Yeah that’s weird. It’s also a culture that’s different. Soviet Union fell partly bc it went back on Stalin who was instrumental in the Soviet revolution/founding of USSR. This is why PRC will respect and show reverence to Mao even after he was pushed out.

Umm- being Korean, definitely I don’t think that I would be untouchable under Stalin esp at that moment in history. We can critique individual policy choices sure, but Stalin also represents a political philosophy/figurehead that was important, (defeating fascism, for example) and on the whole

Yeah South Korea and Japan have learned a lot of bad shit being a US colony- and capitalism in PRC is leading to similar tensions among certain classes- but the role of the every day police is not comparable. But yes- fucked up police- exist there too.
