Actually I just realised that I compared TP Link's in-game model to Ocarina's Concept art. Which is my bad, because immediately the concept art does bring it a bit closer to remake Link's style in many ways. Here they are compared with the remake's Link, plus the respective in-game Links

Not exactly. TP Link's details are largely the same, they've just been spruced up a bit. An extra layer of tunic here, some rough texture there. The visual business is largely the same, just stylised differently. Whereas it's just on a whole other level with the remake.
