Game demo success! Thanks to everyone who stopped by to say hi & a big thanks to Gift of Games for hosting us!
A game demo set-up at Gift of Games in Grayslake, Illinois. The demo is set up on a six by four foot table. A white IKEA carrying case with a handle is in the foreground, carrying one-page rules and Cedar, a plush sandhill crane. One-page rules and zines sit at the front of the table with the carrying case. Two demo versions, one on a canvas board and one on a chess board, are set up in the middle of the table. A woman with shoulder-length curly hair leans over the table. She's wearing a black facemask, a black t-shirt with Boos from Mario patterned across it, and brown-red pants. The table looks out through large windows onto the street, which is covered in outside dining tables and large umbrellas.

A big hello & deceptively dino-like call from Cedar, one of the sisters of Sister Crane! We're working on a currently unrelated-to-business rat-based wargaming project & staying cool in the meantime. Fingers & bird-toes crossed that everyone else is beating the heat too!
A close-up of a plush sandhill crane. The plush crane is in front of a blurry workspace full of miniatures, bottles of paint & airbrush medium, and small containers full of miniatures. As a sandhill, the plush's coloration is black for the beak, grey for the body and neck, white around the neck and below the beak, and red for the head.

This image is an ad and summary of Dulle Griet. The logo, based on blackletter needlework, is centered in white and black at the top of the image and has a marker-like pair of horizontal swipes behind it that are a bright minty teal. The game's tagline, "Raiding Hell is women's work," is below it, left-adjusted, with black text and the same minty teal color in a solid rectangular background. Below the tagline is a skinny white rectangle with a pair of icons to indicate the number of players and the amount of time expected per game, being one to two or more players and thirty to sixty minutes respectively. The left bottom area of the picture includes the Sister Crane logo in a minty teal circle. The Sister Crane logo consists of condensed modern yellow lettering reading, "Sister Crane," with a thicker black outline with a hand-drawn appearance; a vector picture of a sandhill crane's head in profile, with a white neck, red cap, yellow eye, and black beak, all with thicker black lines in a hand-drawn appearance; and a white dotted outline of a Gothic arch behind the text and crane elements. The background of all these elements is a zoomed in section of Pieter Bruegel the Elder's "Dulle Griet" or "Dull Gret." The painting has been rendered in black and white and specifically shows the titular character and her band of raiding women. There is a minty teal background with a dotted white rectangular outline. The Dulle Griet logo in black is at the top of the picture. There is a link to the one-pager rules at the bottom of the picture. The middle is a block of text that reads, "[Dulle Griet] is a puzzle game based on Pieter Bruegel the Elder's painting of the same name in which the player(s) takes on the role of an army of women marauding across a hellish cityscape. While the infernal garrison can do little to stop the pillaging, the raid only lasts as long as the getting is good. Seize what you can before inertia peters out and your comrades head home to plot out the next raid." The next paragraph, in smaller font and italics, reads, "Dulle Griet can be played solo, solo + a human "computer," co-op, or versus."A photo of a game of Dulle Griet, showing hand-painted peg people figures for the women and demons and hand-painted 3mm thick MDF miniature bases for loot markers. The women are detailed and made to look like 16th Century Flemish women while the demon pieces are smaller pegs painted a single color between white, black, blue, red, and yellow. The loot markers are painted a mixture of copper, silver, and gold. The chessboard has visible woodgrain and includes dark brown and blonde squares with a dark brown frame. The photo is framed overall with a dotted rectangular outline in the same minty teal color used thorough these promo pictures/posts and used primarily in the Sister Crane logo as a background color. There is a minty teal background with a dotted white rectangular outline. The word "Materials" is in the same typeface and style as the Dulle Griet logo in black and is at the top of the picture. Below it, the completion of the phrase "materials needed to play" in italics. There is a link to the one-pager rules at the bottom of the picture. The middle is a list of play materials needed to play Dulle Griet, each bullet-pointed by a dagger symbol. The play materials include: "8x8 grid: chess or checkers board works great!"; "4-5 raiding women: stones, beads, dice, miniatures, peg people, &c."; "about 16 demon guards: whatever you don't use for the women can easily become tokens for the demons"; and "39 loot markers: slips of paper, miniatures bases, coins &c." Below this list is the final item, without a dagger but set off with a large italic ampersand instead. This item reads, "and the Dulle Griet one-page rules."
