Ukraine bombs and destroys 2 , cripples 1, Russian data centers. Reading claims from Ireland, Germany and France that troll posts have dropped dramatically. Not sure how anyone can actually measure that yet but if true social media users should all chip in and give Zelensky a medal.

Putin invaded Ukraine and started a war. Trump bombed Iran and started a war. I don't think we need to look any further for who is to blame for soaring oil prices in the U.S. Trump blaming Zelensky is the absolute pinnacle of absurdity.

Another news snippet in my box - Delta Airline has declined to use Elom Musk's Starlink in their upgrade due apparently to concern's about Musk's reputation (?) So United & American are courting Delta flyers who want to switch. I hope people choose Delta instead - I think Musk is bad for America

I read Trump "threatened" not to share intelligence with Ukraine. My immediate thought was "Surely Ukraine is smart enough not to believe any "Intelligence" that might come from Trump's administration. Also trust that Ukraine isn't telling the U.S. a damn thing about their plans.

Honestly - I recommend an app/notice deletion rampage for everyone. Once you get past the initial shock and work through the confusion of some new software etc life is immeasurably better, calmer, less stressful and more productive.

So finally this is what I am down to: OS is Linux Mint Cinnamon; internet browser is Firefox with DuckDuckGo as my search engine; email is Proton - I keep my favorite/necessary web sites on my toolbar so I don't end up at a random site when checking weather or news but go to a trusted page.

And in this frenzy of deletion I was what else, what else can I eliminate as I burn down all my digital bridges? Oh yeah . . . Windows 11 OS and my general google account (internet, photos etc) . . . and that's when things really got weird. Lets just say moving to Linux Mint Cinnamon was brutal.

I then realized that when I nuked FB I lost contact with people whose gmail addresses are no longer in existence and for whom I no longer have telephone numbers. I managed to reconnect with all of them except two and I am still trying to track them down and may yet be successful. Oops.

Next to go was the Google search engine. Replaced it with DuckDuckGo search. Again no adverse impact to speak up plus I had fun playing with DuckDuck's fire button. After that I deleted my gmail account and replaced it with Proton.me

The next to go was Facebook. Honestly that was less political than being driven crazy by the proliferation of ads, pop-ups and garbage posts, "recommended for you". Dealt with it by ignoring the main page, going directly to a private group (Finnish language) but eventually deleted my account.

It is possible that I am a trifle impetuous when it comes to kicking certain apps to the curb when irritated with them. The first to go some time ago was Amazon. That was easy and nothing but good came from it. When I erased Amazon from my computer it was amazing the amount of space it freed up.

New account. My old BlueSky account is deactivated because it is tied to an email address that is long gone. But when I went to update my username and email address on my old account I couldn't unless I retrieved a code BlueSky sent to the long gone email address. Sigh.
