Nottingham Castle and the castle walls are now visible from The Green Heart, Broad Marsh following he demolition of the Maid Marian Way NCP car park.
The former People's College buildings in front of the castle will be demolished in the new year.

The Argentinian president, Javier Milei, was in a serious mood when he recently brought up the issue of the Falkland Islands. Milei demanded that the UK halt the Sea Lion offshore oil project near the islands, and issued a two-week ultimatum.

From The Athletic:

According to the rules, either party may appeal to a fresh, three-member commission appointed by the league’s judicial panel. Any appeal hearing — which is a review of the original verdict and not a full rehearing — is limited to five days and must be completed within 12 weeks of the appeal being lodged, with a decision due no later than 30 days after the hearing’s conclusion.

After the appeal process has been exhausted, either party may also consider an arbitration challenge to a further panel, but these can only be made on limited grounds. Any further challenge could be brought in the commercial division of the High Court, but only against an arbitration decision.

Some tasty congestion inbound to Nottingham today due to the works to demolish the old NCP car park at the bottom of Maid Marian Way. Looks like traffic jams to Savoy Cinema on Derby Road, to Trent Bridge on London Road and the river on Queens Drive.

I really hope that all parties work together to ensure #nffc can build a new pedestrian bridge and get the new WFCG delivered. In particular Homes England, a government agency, must be brought on-side to enable a bridge between County Rd and the WFCG as part of their Meadow Lane development.

As per @stevebattlemuch.bsky.social this is a fantastic letter from Nottingham's MPs supporting the #nffc WFCG development. The momentum for the stadium expansion looks unstoppable now. All parties are working to make it happen.

We support Nottingham Forest Football Club's redevelopment plans for the City Ground. This is a historic opportunity to celebrate and preserve our city's proud heritage as home to a world-famous club, while boosting our local economy and creating well-paid, unionised jobs.

The case for a bigger stadium has been clear for years: six consecutive seasons of sold-out games have meant that many thousands of local fans cannot see their team play on home turf, including a whole new generation of young supporters.

Greater capacity will enable NFFC to host major international matches in future tournaments, strengthening our visitor economy by firmly putting Nottingham back on the map as a legendary football city.

We were particularly excited to hear Mayor Claire Ward describe these proposals as integral to a wider development of a Trent Sports District. Sports investment is vital to improving community cohesion and wellbeing.

#nffc bidding £30m for Liverpool's 19-yr old CM Trey Nyoni (rejected) shows what we're looking for: U21 CM so not requiring registration. That suggests we're happy with our current 1st teamers, but we want to develop a youngster over the season. I doubt we sign a senior CM this summer.

Momentum for #nffc WFCG expansion continues to build with more new planning app docs. They're mostly minor, addressing objections. But most interesting is Forest have bought lots of property around the ground, including the EA offices, and loads on Rosebery. Demo is slated to start Sept.

#nffc look to be building momentum behind the stadium development with their prior notice of plans to demolish 3 houses between Colwick Road and the PT Stand car park. They hope to demolish these in September meaning enabling works can start immediately PP is awarded. 🤞

Right now (1:30pm) 88% of UK electricity generation is from renewable sources. In fact so much electricity is being generated from wind and solar that the wholesale market is paying £16 per MWh for suppliers to take the electricity off their hands.
