Not exactly a novel take, but it's clear that these people voted without any real idea of what they were voting for. They voted along tribal lines. So I blame the tribe which often punches down on the needy and the oppressed. The tribe which embraced a megalomaniac. Leaving a tribe is hard.

I need to circle back at some point to figure it out. My personal site is served off of GH pages with a "CNAME" file in the repo, which got in the way. I think I tried to access the well-known path too early, got a redirect, and then had the redirect *cached* in the browser. 😵‍💫

Still en route home from #PyConUS sprints.. Looking forward to decompressing in several hours, even though all the intense interactions were inspiring and meaningful. I'm so privileged to have so many #pythonista friends in my life 🫶 #Python

Yes, it definitely needs a bit more work! It's an old site and I've been neglecting it. But I wanted to get the post up before getting on the plane. I appreciate the screenshot! A reproducible example!

After #PyConUS , I took my raw notes as a first time attendee and posted them: sirosen.net/2025/05/23/p... This is a minimally sanitized artifact, wrapped in a tiny blog post, for anyone interested.

👋Hi all people of bluesky! In the past week, I've learned that the "Open" in "Open Source" can mean not only "open for anyone to use" but also "open for anyone to join a community"! Thanks to everyone at #PyConUS for offering such a warm welcome. ❤️
