Final test print for the wing is done! I will be setting up the Right wing now from the left side and then off to the fuselage! :D

So in the world of what has Siris been doing outside of studying and training: The Fantrainer 700mm version is coming along. I have a test glue up of the left wing right now though it lacks the torque rod and hinges weight is ~48 grams. Should have the final for the wings tonight!

Look i'm not part of the problem... yet.... most of what i fly doesn't sit more than one other person... ignore that half the time it is upside down >.>

As someone in aviation, we're hit with the same expenses it just usally takes longer to get to us than the driving public because of the nature of our supply chains.

As much as i would love to throw shade around I have to be fair and state this is normal really. Saltwater hates everything and ships at sea for long periods always look like that. Big part of time in port is cleaning them up and repainting them.

... Guess old habits die hard.... I'm back to modeling aircraft. This time for RC purposes, this will be a 1 meter Fantrainer 600 when done. Been an adventure reacquainting myself with Solidworks after all these years.

People who are currently essentially forbidden from seeking mental health support and live potentially one doctor's visit from ending their entire career. God I love flying but this industry certainly doesn't love me.

020

Siris Vulpecula @siris.bsky.social · 29/07/2026

People who have spent the equivalent in time and money of often a second college degree to do what they love. People who regularly have to take responsibility for the lives of others no mater how ugly the situation may be even due to no fault of their own.

110

Siris Vulpecula @siris.bsky.social · 29/07/2026

For my passenger friends in the back know this: When you fly you are at the hands of some of the most driven and passionate people. People who show up for long hours and especially at the lower end on holidays most would rather have off.

110

Siris Vulpecula @siris.bsky.social · 29/07/2026

Don't be fooled, this is not an industry that values its workers they pay high because they have to because we can not be easily trained and replaced AND THAT is our only saving grace.

110

Siris Vulpecula @siris.bsky.social · 29/07/2026

I have now been screwed twice by these companies and when I honestly need the money most. One of these may already involve a class action lawsuit but honestly since that airline is being acquired I suspect it will be swept under the rug.

110

Siris Vulpecula @siris.bsky.social · 29/07/2026

It is just another way for airlines to take advantage of people who are chasing their passion by using you as a bank to then charge you for the interest when they refuse to give you the job they promised you. If you are tempted by one of these programs DO NOT TAKE THE MONEY.

110

Siris Vulpecula @siris.bsky.social · 29/07/2026

To all my pilot friends or those looking to start a career in aviation a PSA DO NOT TAKE MONEY FROM A CADET PROGRAM! These are not loans, these are not grants, these are not help. The money offered is a predatory conditional payment they treat like a loan but still bill you the tax on.

So years ago in my state we actually did have a law that attempted this... It was funny all it resulted in was people stopping outside the restroom yelling "HB-2!" and intentionally walking into the wrong restroom.

And before people misunderstand me my point is there is no way the crew of this aircraft "could barely speak english"

I would like to introduce them to CFR 14 par 61.103 (c) you know the part they've been being evaluated on for the minimum of 1500 hours to fly that airliner since private pilot.
