You have to wonder what Dr William Briggs, who did his PhD on Marxist theory, thinks about the arrest of around 60 communists at a rally in Moscow which happened the day before his disgracefully one-sided, pro-Putin essay about propaganda in Ukraine was published by Independent Australia […]

It's always a bit of a gamble getting a haircut where both you and the hairdresser are using a second language (D) to communicate. The friendly Syrian barber has unfortunately given me what's known in the trade *worldwide* as a "Dave Hughes".

Nobody can be surprised that the Nazi /AfD local councillors are voting to ban Stolpersteine but the CDU joining in indicates they are are chomping at the bit to repeat their pathetic historical role in enabling the far right once again. bbc.com/news/articles/cqm2mm4y5dkko

Incredibly specific hit by the Australian Government on the German drug store DM: Your passport photos will likely be rejected.

Things are so grim that ~15% for the AfD (Nazis) in the district election in my part of Lower Saxony, is a relief. One positive is that my conservative village has voted in an SPD mayor.

Sachsen-Anhalt election: According to exit polls, the combined vote of all non-Nazi parties who passed the 5% threshold is 45% vs the far-right AfD 44%. Grim. If the fake leftist party BSW creep up to 5%, it's lost for sure. Will CDU tear down the firewall?

Currently stopping over in Singapore where (as seen on a TV ad) Pizza Hut is celebrating the forthcoming National Day with special durian and laksa pizzas.
Cheesy 7 Durian - Pan

The King of Fruits gets the Cheesy 7 treatment. Seven creamy cheeses baked with rich, creamy durian for a pizza that's unapologetically bold. It’s sweet, savoury, and packed with flavour.Cheesy 7 Otah Laksa

Bold local flavours meet irresistible cheese pulls. Pizza Hut's signature blend of seven cheeses is layered with spicy chicken, fragrant otah paste, rich laksa sauce, red onions and a sprinkle of parsley.
