Remember kids: handwriting is important.
A bag of coffee beans. Written on the front in marker is “ORGANIC PERV”. It was probably meant to be “ORGANIC PERU” but the U looks much more like a V

She’s SO CUTE
A pink box with a plastic window on the front showing a small figurine of Sherma from Silksong inside. Sherma has a face like a white mask with two dark pools for eyes. She is holding a small cane and a charm. She wears a large hat.

Old post offices go hard.

See? What’d I tell you? Easy.
A diagram from assembly instructions showing a ton of pieces all labeled with letters from A through J. It looks confusing.

The whole thing is built on different axes. It attaches in a variety of ways but this particular piece around the curve in the lower right corner of the screen was so satisfying.
A curved piece sits just out of socket from where it goes on the Gameboy. A curved piece has been fitted perfectly into its place on the Lego Gameboy.

The A and B buttons have a rubber band underneath them to make them pop back up. The select and start buttons are tires wedged into slots.
A Lego Gameboy without a start button. A hand is visible holding a small Lego tire that will be the Start button.

And then the actual part you touch is attached to a disc that is secured under a layer of smooth plates. The plates keep it from falling out but don’t pinch it so it moves freely.
Some Legos with a directional pad from a controller. A small white disc is partially visible beneath it.

Pleased at his shot through the El window from too far away. Helps when the subject is rad as hell. That graffiti was probably 50 feet off the ground.

Went to an art show today and bought an art. Right off the wall of the booth, already framed. I love it. Even goes with the paint in the office.
A framed piece of art depicting a large question mark with words from the NATO alphabet on the front of it. Deciphering the words spells “Do I have to spell it out for you?”

Visited the Art Institute of Chicago today and didn’t realize @darthbluesky.bsky.social had a piece on display.
A framed portrait of a humble potato with a sign next to it, as in a museum. Close up of a sign saying the artist is Ed Ruscha, and the work is titled Potato (1964).

“Ed Ruscha
American, born 1937
Potato
1964
Gelatin silver print
Ed Ruscha's simple composition depicts a humble potato casting a delicate shadow onto a smooth surface. Created early in his career, this photograph shows his developing interest in elevating ordinary objects to the status of high art.
Throughout his career Ruscha has also aimed to create neutral images, or as he once put it, images that followed
"a non-statement with a no-style." This is especially true for the photobooks he created in the 1960s and '70s, such as Various Small Fires and Milk, on view in a case in this gallery.
Purchased with funds provided by Constance R. Caplan and Photography Gala
Fund, 2012.117”
