Got the Anagram! Super excited! But what’s with the discrepancy between the labels? Only the cardboard is made in Finland?

And yeah, I know I haven't been looking too hard

Scrooge McDuck is about to open his vault and says "And here I have a valuable copy of...". He is cut off by Donald Duck waving his hands frantically and shouting "Zomg! Torrent please!" in full caps and with multiple exclamation marks

Romance novel art can be pretty dope though

The cover for Johanna Lindsey's romance novel 'A Heart So Wild'. The heaving bosom of a red headed lady in a pink dress takes center stage as the lady is embraced by a darkhaired man in cowboy gear, with a gun in its holster. In the background, a withered tree is looming behind a campfire as the couple sits in a flower bush.

Continuing to extend my already big backlog of books. The Last Hero is the next in line once I finish Wind & Truth. #books #booksky

Enjoying summer with some light reading #booksky

In the foreground there is a book held with its spine towards the camera. It’s Brandon Sanderson’s Wind and Truth, Book Five of The Stormlight Archive series. In the background there’s a table with a small flower pot and a bottle of beer on it. Behind the table the flooring of the terrace and a green yard with bushes and a hedge basking in sunlight can be observed.

Might’ve gone a bit overboard with the book haul of the past 3 weeks. Fantasy and Finnish folklore, isn’t that what summer reading is made of? Also got a Kindle like a month ago, so I have quite a lot of books to get through. #books #booksky

A pile of 7 books on a bookshelf. Terry Pratchett’s The Wee Free Men and The Amazing Maurice and his Educated Rodents, Martti Haavio’s two books about Finnish folklore, and Brandon Sanderson’s Wind & Truth, Tress of the Emerald Sea, and The Sunlit Man.

The prices for Nintendo Switch 2 in Finland just made me chuckle. I was prepared to pay the MSRP, but the distributor in Finland seems to think adding an extra 25% on top is acceptable. Yeah, fuck that.

A screenshot from a Finnish game store listing Nintendo Switch 2 at 569 euros and the bundle with Mario Kart World at 629 euros. That converts to approximately 627USD and 695USD respectively.

Weekend’s book haul. For some reason it’s getting increasingly hard to find The Long Earth books or Discworlds with Kidby/Kirby covers. Especially in Finland. Thus I grasped the opportunity while in London. Also nice to find Vonnegut books other than the three most famous ones.

The paperback editions of seven books lay on a carpet. On the left side lay Kurt Vonnegut’s “Bluebeard” and “God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater”. On the right, books are laid in two rows. The top row has three Terry Pratchett’s Discworld novels “Monstrous Regiment”, “Thud!”, and “Snuff”. The bottom row has two books: “The Science of Discworld” by Terry Pratchett, Ian Stewart and Jack Cohen and “The Long War” by Terry Pratchett and Stephen Baxter.

Had a real 28 Days Later moment in London last weekend.

The Westminster bridge during the day. There is no traffic or pedestrians visible anywhere, which is unusual. The Big Ben is standing at the end of the bridge and the Palace of Westminster is to its left. The sky is almost clear blue.

I think starting Rhythm of War will put a pause to my urge to buy an e-reader. I’ll come back to that in approximately two months. 😅 #booksky #books

The paperback version of Brandon Sanderson’s novel Rhythm of War, the fourth in the Stormlight archive book series. It’s a thick book of over 1200 pages. The book is held in the poster’s hand, in front of a canvas print depicting Discworld’s Death in denim overalls sitting under a tree.

After a long period of not buying any vinyl records, I ended up ordering a second record within the last week. Really cool that Amesoeurs’s album gets reissued. It’s a perfect pixie shoegaze metal album. www.auralwebstore.com/shop/vinyl/1... #music #musicsky

Mockingbird by Walter Tevis from 1980 is almost prophetic with its story about a world governed by an AI, a mass epidemic of depression, declining birthrates, and people losing the ability to read. It's a story that has stayed with me ever since I read it. A masterpiece. #Booksky #scifi

The cover to the 1981 edition of Walter Tevis' Mockingbird. In the background there's a sunset with that paints the sky with the color of fire. In the foreground there's a desolate city with a crumbling skyscraper in the center of the view. Next to the skyscraper there's a text "A love story of the far future".
