The ultra rich didn't create new wealth to achieve their bank accounts; they took and horded money from the economy. That money was taxed before - and should still be. Where did it start? Ref...

They didn't use to. That money once circulated in the economy. Now, it is sucked away into private accounts. Something happened in around 1970, which has slowly been breaking western society.

Something happened c.1970. And remember, it's the area between the two lines, not just the height difference.

I wonder how they'd cope with the travel time equations in classic Traveller. I mean, they're just Newtonian, and we learned them pre teen. But if subtraction is a problem...

As kids, we were completely unphased by the flight mechanics in Traveller. Now people complain if a game expects them to do subtraction.

That is where all the money has gone! It's the area between the lines.

Remember, it's the area between the two lines, not just the difference in height.

The area between the two lines is wealth that should have flowed thru the economy via wages, but now sits in billionaires bank accounts.

Something happened in the early 70s. Remember that it's not the difference between the two lines - it's the area between them (integral over time) that's been "appropriated".

I find this chart interesting, and there's an aspect which doesn't seem to get air time. Upto the late 70s, productivity and wages increased together. Then, from the early 80s, wages stagnated despite productivity continuing to rise. The gap between these two lines...

Solar eclipses occur about twice a year but are, of course, only visible where the shadow falls. Lunar eclipses are actually rarer but are visible to about half the planet. I went for the projection approach to viewing the recent eclipse.
