#AuthorThread - when on sub, would a template rejection from pubs aid your mental health? My mindset & ability to focus on writing for new subs would be far better knowing EVERY pub had responded. I'm OK with ‘NO’ responses… but ‘NO RESPONSE’s hurt Thoughts? shorturl.at/yD1RQ

A trio of terrific titles from #TemplarBooks today! Can’t wait to read #GraphicNovel #AnzuAndTheRealmOfDarkness by Mai K.Nguyen and picture books #YetisDontExist by @katethompson.bsky.social & @lorettaschauer.bsky.social and #TheCircularSquare by @simonphilipauthor.bsky.social & Neil Clark. 🥰

Copy of Anzu and the Realm of Darkness by Mai K. Nguyen showing a girl armed with a bow and arrow and a dog-like creature both in front of a torii, with fantastical tadpole-like creatures flying around them. Also included is the book’s press release.

Copy of Yetis Don’t Exist by Kate Thompson and Loretta Schauer showing a wintry scene including several yetis enjoying the snow, alongside the title’s press release.

Copy of The Circular Square by SimonPhilip and Neil Clark showing a large, jolly face in the shape of a circle together with the book’s press release.

My daughter turns 1 on Thursday. She's been a source of inspiration since the off... (I'm pleased to report there's less vomit now. My wallet's still empty, though.) #poem

Would love to know your approaches to handling criticism & rejection - a fundamental part of a creative career! Do you sulk? Vent? Rage? Or go for a walk and (literally) take it all in your stride? I’ve shared MY approach here: shorturl.at/cDzi4 #authorlife

I post a poem on Substack each Tuesday. They're normally silly and humorous. Today's is more heartfelt. My daughter turns one next week, and this one's about her arrival, written during the crazy first few months of parenthood - hence why I never got round to writing part 2 😅 shorturl.at/DjHyx

Libraries are THE BEST. I'm very lucky to have an amazing local library in Brighton - I use it all the time (pretty much daily with my little one - lots of room for crawling!)

This is NOT clickbait - honest! So… IF YOU WANT TO SEE A VIDEO OF A CUTE CAT, READ THIS POST: shorturl.at/pVJmt (And if you want to find out about how many stories I've written, and my acquisition/rejection rate...)
