Morning task. Swapping out a faulty DQ6 amp of 9. Reprogramming in System Engineer, repatching, relabelling in Dante & testing. Being Head of Sound is more than operating & mixing. It’s identifying issues before they screw up a show. Oh and the stage was dark so done by torch light

Think I watched one of the most perfect pieces of art/cinema last night, multi layered, made with depth & feeling. If you have mubi or other means of seeing it I highly recommend this by Agnès Varda mubi.com/en/gb/films/...

Spent the morning doing editing of foley for some sound associate work for a project, using various metal junk to make a rhythmic squeaky mangle & paper guillotine 🤷🏼‍♂️ and discovered some field recordings from trip to Portugal over December

I have one coloured special edition vinyl of ‘florescence’ which I hung on to for someone who requested it. Looks like they no longer want it so I now have put up on Bandcamp simonmccorry.bandcamp.com/album/flores...

Back to this familiar view. The River Severn from Haresfield Beacon. Gradual steps of coming back home. Though part of me doesn’t want to. But there’s work to be done

Now after playing different cellos these past three weeks in Japan time to reacquaint myself with my instrument. We know each others scars and imperfections intimately

Front of cello with scars in surface of wood and varnish. Fingerboard in bottom left corner and f hike in bottom right corner

Front of cello with scars in surface of wood and varnish. Worm edges from where bow has repeated brushed against instrument

Front of cello with scars in surface of wood and varnish. f hole in top left corner
