What’s weekend! The Traws Eryri is one the toughest physical challenges I’ve experienced. 128miles, 14000ft of climbing and some of the most testing gravel trails in the UK.

Day 2 90 miles of Norfolk gravel—Kings Lynn to Sheringham via Sandringham, Holkham Hall & Walsingham. Off shore winds made it a tough day, but another incredible day in the saddle.

Some days on the bike, everything clicks. 85 miles of gravel from Bury St Edmunds to King’s Lynn—flinty trails, bridleways, forgotten lanes.

All set for my Easter bikepacking tour of East Anglia — 387 miles of gravel tracks, bridleways, and peaceful country lanes ahead.
The image shows a route map from a cycling navigation app. Here are the key details:

	•	Route overview: The yellow-highlighted route creates a large loop around East Anglia in the UK, taking in areas like Norfolk, Suffolk, and Essex. The route also skirts the coast in several places, especially around Norwich and the eastern coastline, before heading inland again.
	•	Distance and elevation: The total route is 387.0 miles long with 11,999 feet of elevation gain.

During the pandemic our Coronacast Network provided a safe safe space for educators to discuss the challenges they faced. Last night I met up with my brilliant friends and colleagues, @raesnape.bsky.social & @drmattbutler.bsky.social, who helped to make the network such a success.

The guidance for schools was updated at the end of last week. Hopefully, one of the “potential solutions” will be increased funding for schools struggling to cover costs.

For years, I’ve been inspired by @realgeoffbarton.bsky.social stunning photographs of Suffolk’s big skies and @davidbedford1986.bsky.social tales about the wildlife of Norfolk. Later this year, I’m finally setting out to experience them firsthand—with a cycling tour of East Anglia.

Cycling 500km in 8 days was made easier in the sunshine; but with 16,000ft of climbing, and multiple days cycling solo into some of the strongest head and side winds I’ve experienced, it’s been a challenge. Thanks to @andrewoneillHT for the motivation. #Festive500

After stepping away from School Leadership in 23/24, I’ve been back in school since September 24. Here are my three autumn term takeaways: #1 School Leadership can be incredibly hard, but it is also rewarding, transformational and a privilege.
The image depicts a silhouette of a person mid-jump between two cliffs during a sunset or sunrise. The cliff on the left has “2024” written on it, and the cliff on the right has “2025.” The person appears to be symbolically leaping from one year to the next, with a warm orange sky and a glowing sun reflecting on water below, creating a hopeful and forward-looking atmosphere.

A misty Winsford Town Park this morning.
A scenic view of Winsford Town Park in the early morning, with a winding path leading through a misty landscape. The park features a wooden playground with slides and climbing structures on the left, surrounded by trees with bare branches. A modern white lattice sculpture is visible near the center, partially obscured by the morning fog. The grass is lush and green, and the sky displays a soft gradient of orange and gray, indicating sunrise. The serene atmosphere is complemented by scattered benches and picnic tables.
