The really quite lovely Stephen Volk, author of Ghostwatch sent these incredibly kind words about my book PoppyHarp, and it has pretty much made my month. It’s always lovely to hear that someone enjoys your work; to hear it from a writer whose work you’ve adored for years is doubly pleasing.

PoppyHarp – The Puppets (part one)

I can clearly trace the seed of the idea that led to PoppyHarp to a trip we took to the Cotswolds, well over ten years ago. We were passing through the small town of Shipston-on-Stour, which is abo…

My book arrived! Absolutely delighted with how it turned out. Massive thanks to Steve Shaw for not only publishing PoppyHarp but also allowing me to create the cover art for it. I think it’s turned out great. And if you read it and like it, please let me know or leave a review somewhere.

My new novel comes out at the end of November. PoppyHarp is a story about England in the 70s and 80s, the AIDS epidemic, the faded lights of celebrity, and building your own little plot of Eden when it feels the world has forgotten about you. blackshuckbooks.co.uk/poppyharp/?m...
