That night Poseidon and Kailani get some much needed rest while Hera takes care of the girls. She wants to spend as much time with them as she can before she has to leave. It hurts to know they will grow up so far away from her, but knows that this is where Posy belongs.

D: "Happy Birthday Ele! Now you need to stop growing on me." E: "Mommy, you know I can't do that. Plus this means I get to join a more competitive High School team! Oh, I hope I get to play a lot since I'll be new..." Eleanor continues on, not noticing Daphne brushing a tear from her eye.

Eleanor is officially the first teen of gen. 4!! Daphne and Jules are very proud of her.

The cake is finally done and it is time to celebrate! Happy Birthday Eleanor! 🎉

All of the thoughts and fears Kailani has been suppressing came rushing up. She hates thinking about the future and arguing, but it seems she may not have a choice anymore. It's time to finally make a real plan, no matter what it may cost her.

Jules wraps his arms around Daphne and she immediately deflates. J: "We agreed to ask questions, not to scare her." D: "Fine" She looks at Kailani again with far less venom in her eyes. D: "Think about what I said, okay? No one likes to live in limbo."

D: "You need to start making a plan instead of living in denial, even if it means losing. At least then you and Posy would know and could move on..." J: "Hey, what happened to cool, calm, and collected?" D: "You didn't hear what she said!" J: "Daph, she doesn't know you. You can't go into attack"

K: "I know, but what if the only way out means that I lose them. What if I can't make it work?" D: "You won't know till you try! The solution could be out there and you may never know! Trust me, delaying the future doesn't make it come slower." She flounders as the truth of Daph's words sinks in.

Kailani feels the shift in the conversation as Daphne loses the veil of calm. D: "Have you made a single decision in all of this? Posy loves you, you have two daughters, and yet you still can't say anything about the future. You can't just let life happen to you, that's not how any of this works!"

D: "That's not good enough. I can tell you that he has already planned forever in his head no matter what he has said to you. Now you said yet, does this mean you have a plan to tell him?" K: "I-I'm working on it." D: "So, soon?" K: "I don't know."

K: "He told me about her and I can promise it's not like that. He knows what I can tell him, that my father does not approve of our relationship and that I can't promise him forever. The rest are secrets that are bigger than me and him. I can't tell him those yet, no matter how much I want to."

D: "Listen, I know you have secrets. Posy doesn't seem to know what they are or even be that bothered by them. I am. I don't like it. He has already allowed himself to fall for a girl with secrets and I will not sit by while he does it again. So I'm asking you, what are your plans with my brother?"

K: "W-What?" D: "With my brother, what are your plans?" K: "I...we just had the girls so right now it's to focus on raising them together. We haven't talked about anything else." It is hard for her to put into words how anymore seems impossible, especially with Daphne's intimidating stare.

Kailani tries to stay off to the side and let the family enjoy their time together. She doesn't quite know where to fit in with them since she isn't really a part of them. Daphne notices her and decides this is her chance to get some answers. D: "So what are your plans?"

The family gathers inside, chatting away as the cake is being made. Poseidon's heart is full as his home is filled with the family he was born into and the family that he made. Hera, though, only has eyes for the babies as she gives them all her love and attention.

Poseidon holds her close as he fights back his tears. P: "I love you, Ele. I'm sorry I almost missed it again, but what about your friends?" E: "We're having a big sleepover when I get back so I'll see them then. There will be cake!" P: "Would you like to help me make one for today?" E: "Okay!"

E: "I wanted to remind you that you had to come see me, but Mommy said it was a bad time for you. I kept trying to tell her you wanted to be there, but she wouldn't listen. Even Daddy took her side and said no. Then I found out about her trip and insisted we come in time to celebrate here."

Poseidon walks over to Ele to hopefully get a full answer to his question. P: "Ele!" E: "You promised you would be at my next birthday!" There is a moment of confusion before he remembers what day it is. P: "That's today! You came out here just so I could be at your birthday."

J: "But when your wife is Daphne and she demands that you go somewhere, you start packing your bags." They both laugh as two people very familiar with Daphne's forceful nature. J: "You can ask Ele why we all had to come on this trip."

There are two unexpected members of the family for this visit. Not that Poseidon is unhappy to see them, but he is curious about why Jules and Eleanor tagged along. P: "Hey Jules, I wasn't expecting you to come along. I'm happy to see you, but I thought you hated the sun." J: "Oh I do..."

He finds Demeter awake and carries her to Hera. H: "Oh she's adorable! Look at those freckles!" P: "Mom, I'm in trouble. How do I say no to this face? and there are two!" Her smile grew impossibly bigger as she knew that he would have his work cut out for him. H: "It's hard, but you will learn."

P: "Thea!" T: "Hey Posy! Watcher, you having kids makes me feel so old. I still remember changing your diapers." P: "Hate to break it to you sis, but you are old." Posy and Thea laugh together until Hera calmly interrupts. H: "These are lovely reunions, but can I see the babies now?"

P: "Daphy!" D: "Posy!" Daphne pulled out of their hug only to punch him in the arm. P: "Ow!" D: "That's for moving away and not visiting enough. It's been too long since I've seen you." P: "I'm sorry Daphy. I'll try harder to actually make a plan to see you." D: "You better."

In the evening, the Makris clan descends on the house to welcome the two newest members. P: "Hey mom, I'm so glad you could make it out here." H: "I had to come see my newest grand-babies." P: "Not me?" H: "You're a happy bonus." P: "Haha!"

K: "You know you can see them whenever you want." There's a long pause before Lehua sighs. L: "I want to be there. Please believe me when I say that I wish I was there. It's just your father..." K: "I know." After a moment of grief, she shakes herself off and tells her mom everything she missed.

Chapter 6: It All Falls Apart Kailani is getting ready for the day when she receives a surprising phone call. K: "Mom?" L: "Hello! How are you? Are the babies okay? What are their names?" K: "We are all fine. Their names are Demeter and Delilah."

Hello! As I expected, work took all of my energy this week so no update. I did want to put something together for today so here is an updated photo of Hera with all of her grandchildren. Gen. 4 is clearly the girls generation. ♥️

The next day they take the girls down to the oceanside to get a few pictures of their new family.

Poseidon takes one of the girls into his arms and they both look at them in awe. They live in the joy of that moment until all four of them need to get some rest. ✨Welcome to the save Demeter and Delilah Kahale-Makris ✨

P: "You did it. Look at our beautiful girls." Kailani can barely choke out a response as tears start to pour down her face. K: "They're so beautiful." P: "Just like their mom." K: "Do you want to hold one?"

It is the most excruciating pain she has ever felt, but she knows it is worth it in the end as she holds onto her two baby girls. She is overwhelmingly in love and unbelievably happy as she looks at them in her arms.

He reaches out and cradles her face, hoping to find the right words to talk her through this. P: "You are so strong and you're doing so well. You can do this. I'm right here and I believe in you. Just hold onto me." She grabs his shoulders and tries to focus on his words as a contraction hits.

It is time for her to start pushing just as the sun breaks over the horizon. K: "It hurts Posy. Do you think they're okay? Are we doing this right? What if..." P: "Breathe Kani, breathe." She focuses on breathing as she pushes through the next contraction.

In the early hours of the next morning, Kailani is becoming overwhelmingly exhausted. Poseidon is doing his best to support her, but he's running on fumes too. P: "You can do this, just a little bit longer." K: "I'm so tired." P: "I know, but try to focus on how close we are to seeing our girls."

As the day progresses into night, Kailani does everything she can to manage her pain while also trying to speed up the dilation. She gets into a rhythm that calms her even if each contraction slowly becomes more painful than the last.

Poseidon pulls Kailani into his arms and starts to sway. P: "I've got you." She holds on tight as another contraction rips through her. P: "I read that taking a bath can help. Would you like me to run you one?" K: "I-I'll try the exercise ball first."

A few days later, Poseidon is walking back toward the house when he is stopped by the sound of Kailani crying out. He is immediately filled with panic that he does his best to shake off before going into the house.

K: "Thank you for telling me." N: "Of course my dear, I will be here for whatever you and the babies need. Also, please call your mother. She is worried about you." K: "I'll think about it." They share a quick hug before Nalani heads home, leaving Kailani with a lot to think about.
