Following this, hundreds of men and women picked up stones and sticks and began attacking members of Akku's gang. They burned down Akku's house. To save his life, the police took Akku into custody. On August 13, Akku Yadav was presented in Nagpur District Court. When it became clear that he would once again be acquitted by the court, 200 women suddenly stormed the courtroom.

In the courtroom, Akku, trying to appear brave, threatened each of them. He called one of the women, who he had previously raped, a prostitute. I like existing in liminal spaces and hotels are definitely in that category. It's why you shouldn't stay in them for too long; otherwise you risk clipping out of reality permanently.

Now I’m stuck questioning myself. Is this actually a cultural difference I should be more open minded about, or is this just bad hygiene being dressed up as something deeper? I feel ridiculous even asking this, but I honestly don’t know if I’m missing something or being gaslit.

I’m a Black woman and my boyfriend is white. This is the first white man I’ve ever dated, which is relevant because I keep wondering if I’m misunderstanding something cultural.

My boyfriend does not regularly use soap when he showers. He says he rinses with water and that soap is optional unless you’re visibly dirty. He will sometimes use shampoo, but body soap is inconsistent at best. He also doesn’t always use soap when washing his hands in the bathroom and says hot water is enough.

When I brought this up, he told me that I’m overreacting and that this is “a white people thing” and that I’m judging him through my own cultural lens. He said growing up, his family didn’t obsess over soap the way mine did and that my expectations are based on how I was raised, not on what’s medically necessary. He said different ethnic groups get dirtier at different rates so he does not need soap as often as I do.

This really threw me. In my family and community, soap is not optional. You shower daily, you use soap, you wash your hands properly, you use a bar of soap to wash your a**. It’s basic hygiene. I’ve never had to explain this to an adult partner before.

The problem is that it affects shared spaces. Our towels smell. Our sheets smell faster than they should. I question his bathroom and backdoor hygeine because sometimes there is a poop smell when we are intimate. He insists I am imagining it because black people are too uptight about using soap all the time and using washcloths. he even makes fun of me for using washcloths! I’ve had to rewash laundry because things don’t feel clean. I feel uncomfortable inviting people over because I’m worried the house smells off, even if he insists I’m imagining it.

Judi Dench is weighing in on Harvey Weinsteins's fall from grace in the wake of widespread accusations of sexual misconduct.

The actress, 90, told The Radio Times in a new interview that she felt the since-scorned movie mogul had "done his time." It wasn't immediately clear whether she was referring to a prison sentence, which he is currently serving in New York for an assault conviction, or his exclusion from Hollywood.

"I saw a bit of film of Harvey walking with two sticks and you think, 'Well...,'" she said, referring to Weinstein's health struggles since his conviction. "I knew Harvey and I knew him well and worked with him, and I had none of the experience--very fortunately for me."

Weinstein has been accused by nearly 90 alleged victims of sexual misconduct ranging from requests for massages and intimdating advances to rape. Weinstein as denied the allegations.

"I imagine he's done his time," she said, later adding: "I don't know, to me it's personal--forgiveness." Dench, who has previously condemned Weinstein's actions, starred in several films produced by him, including 1998 "Shakesspeare in Love" and 2013's "Philomena."

Adding my 2cents: One thing I don't see people talk about enough is how the rich use social resources to make their money but don't want to contribute to those social resources. Taxes also pay for the roadways, USPS, court system, military and other public assets and services.

This is an issue that requires multiple solutions. I made 1 suggestion about a possible fix targeted towards people with the ability to cook. People are free to add other solutions. The post wasn't meant to be a comprehensive fix for a complex problem. Not sure why folks assume it should be.

The Cambel soup scandal highlights the fact we need to relearn how to make things from scratch again. Honestly, I don't think they're using fake meat, just low quality. But, if you want to avoid supporting these companies, gotta learn how to cook or trade services with someone who does.
