It was a beautiful day for a trip to the public library. Yes, I have a giant bandage on my face because school librarians also see their dermatologists over spring break.

One of our ELL students speaks Russian and she brought a book from home for cozy read day in the library! @danpoblocki.bsky.social I immediately recognized the cover and it resulted in a great conversation with her classmates. ❤️ Books for the win! #authors

Very sad 6th grader: Mrs. Silwani! All the Diary of a Wimpy Kid Books are out! There’s nothing to read! Me: Oh buddy, I’ve got you covered. ⬇️ Dav Pilkey, he is hooked! Huge thanks to you and @jeffkinney.bsky.social for books that keep my middle schoolers reading. ❤️ #authors #oomslibrary

I turned the tables on my classes today and had them do the book talks instead of me. All volunteers. They loved it and of course everyone wanted the books their peers talked about.

These numbers cracked me up! Maybe I should play the lottery? Friday’s checkout number. Monday’s number. Maybe I should give candy to the first kid that checks out this morning. ❤️

Being a middle school librarian, I often find interesting things in returned books, like this note. Wise words and a good reminder for any middle schooler. ❤️ #oomslibrary

I just realized my TBR pile matched the color of my nails. Coincidence? 🤣 And yes I know I’m late to the party reading these. Sorry. @nathanhale.bsky.social @lisayee.bsky.social @kellyyang.bsky.social

Stack of 4 books. Going from top to bottom: “Eliza Bing Is Not a Star,” “Apocalypse Taco,” “Maizy Chen’s Last Chance,” and “Front Desk.”

Finished the first 2 books of 2024 & of course loved them! Two very different stories. “The Marvellers” by @dhonielle.bsky.social is an incredible & engaging fantasy story. “Apocalypse Taco” by @nathanhale.bsky.social is a wild science fiction ride. Get both, read both, & share them both widely!

I decided to make the TBR pile that’s in my head, visual. They are piled in no particular order but the two standing are the ones I’m currently reading. Yes, at the same time. 🤣 Not sure if I can finish all of these in 2 weeks but I’m going to have fun trying.

When a student wants to read a book and I literally just got it in…of course I say yes! It’s not processed, it’s not stamped or covered, and it’s not even in the catalog. The look on her face when I told her she could borrow it was all I needed to know that I made the right choice. ❤️ #oomslibrary

Two students drawing on a whiteboard & singing. It was so sweet. Then they sat down by my desk and proceeded to come up with fun additions to the library. My favorite…a twisty slide from the second floor into the library. Our main area is a 2 story ceiling which has classrooms overlooking the space.
