As and until all donations, aka bribes are illegal and a criminal offence, for both parties, nothing changes, just the excuses. Political parties (all have to be publicly funded)

They are currently being bribed/corrupted by their donors. All political parties need to be publicly funded. Any donations a criminal offence?

There is a huge, and I mean huge assumption that the Tory’s will somehow in the next 3 years be a party that has credibility and fit for government? Therein, as there is little chance of this happening their policies are totally meaningless.

silverstar24.bsky.social @silverstar24.bsky.social · 08/10/2026
Ok. If these are a form of compensation for being over charged. Have their policy charges decreased going forward? If not, then they are still being overcharged.

Here we go again. Big money having a disproportionate influence on our governments. Appears U.K. citizens are only considered when governments want the thin veneer of democracy, allowing us a vote every 5 years. Other then that we are inconsequential, their actions speak louder then their words.

Not beyond the wit of man to resolve this and any other issues, just as man has created the current system.

Can you imagine the faux- outrage from the likes of Farage and his acolytes, if children were allowed to mark their own Homework, let alone carry out inquiries into their friends who had been accused of breaking school rules?

Stock reply, ( they are all going to leave the country etc)when it’s mooted that Billionaires and Millionaires should contribute more to society then they currently do. The so say Golden Age(1950’s) Trump is now citing he hes achieved, silence, that the highest rate of tax then was 98%.

Same old Tory policies that Tory’s they have been pushing for the last 40 odd years. Would appear that those policies haven’t worked, otherwise , why more of the same wrapped up in 21st C modernity?

The unadulterated influencing of how ‘donations’- ‘donors’ own this administration. The very thin veneer of democracy, is the allowance by those ‘donors’ to allow ( though currently being further restricted) citizens to vote. After that they are inconsequential.

You need a clear and unambiguous federal law, that requires any POTUS, to have been an elected Senator, and any potential POTUS barred from office if they have criminal/civil convictions?

Yes, all countries finance their pension in different ways, usually via their tax system. If you don’t want to engage fair enough. Though you appear to be relaxed about profit making companies getting U.K. subsidies, money which could be used to provide investment in U.K. have a good day.
000
silverstar24.bsky.social @silverstar24.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
That maybe the case, subsidies are continuing for profit making companies who manage utility services. No reduction on them using your logic? What will be in Place/value when ‘boomers’ are all gone? Will there be any replacement and will its value take the U.K. of the bottom of the pension list?

silverstar24.bsky.social @silverstar24.bsky.social · 02/10/2026
When the pension system /triple lock was added, no mention they were time limited? What has changed- not the old chestnut- ‘we can’t afford it’ even if it’s the lowest value in Europe. We, apparently can never afford investments in people and society, though tax breaks and subs for corps continue?

There are many more ‘of the rank and file’ that is a fact. Rebel, it’s been done in the past in other countries, the existing establishment will not cede authority through democratic means as already shown. Constitution not worth the paper it’s written on. Good luck.

Fundamentally, are political parties there to represent their constituents, or, just a vehicle to enable the continuation of the corrupting influence and undemocratic buying of policy by rich individuals and corporations. Until this is settled the blatant corruption will continue.

Top of this thread- specifically: Many companies paid huge dividends to employees. Reich knows this, but hides it.

silverstar24.bsky.social @silverstar24.bsky.social · 25/09/2026
All these ‘donations’ are paying dividends in $B’s of ways. Don’t you just love it when such corporations are able to buy and influence tax policy and continue to be subsidised by the tax payer: example

Then it’s all ever about resources that pollute the World. If we kept them, the oil would be sold on the international mkt, dividends paid and next to nothing coming to the U.K. when it would take a least a decade to start seeing any return. Imagine if we had free power- solar

Let’s not forget this ‘highly educated’ man was also, and still is a champion of Brexit, the most economical damaging catastrophe, based on lies. he’s yet to provide any meaningful benefits due to Brexit. He now he expects us to listen to more of his deranged utterances.

020
silverstar24.bsky.social @silverstar24.bsky.social · 22/09/2026
Due the very fact the democrats system we have allows politicians to be the recipients of ‘donations’ in any other form of employment that would be seen seen as bribery and corruption! As and until this is made a criminal offence? The corruption will continue and corporations will benefit
110
silverstar24.bsky.social @silverstar24.bsky.social · 22/09/2026
Therein lyes the fundamental issue, Big Money corrupting democracy. As and until all political parties are publicly funded, the corruption will continue unabated . Those politicians will serve their paymaster(s) and ensure ‘capitalism’ is surely subsidised by the tax payer, as shown.

110
silverstar24.bsky.social @silverstar24.bsky.social · 22/09/2026
Why would you give something you already own, to a company, who then provide the same service at a much higher cost( dividends have to be paid to shareholders ) to you?

They (Democrats) are as hamstrung by big business donors, just as the Republican Party is. As and until all political parties are publicly funded, corruption and the demise of democracy will continue unabated.
