The work in question could be answered very simply with the author saying "It's just a representation of my past experiences and not about the church". Particularly since that's the interpretation you and so many seem to have, the author could just have said "That's right".

If a work is promoting something harmful in a community I'm a part of, then it should be called out for that. Asking for simple clarification of the work and its purpose is the business of anyone in the furry community, since the creator decided to make a furry VN in the first place.
