One down, five to go!

There is/was a nearby store called "JUST CABINETS" and then in smaller print "FURNITURE AND MORE" and I'm always thinking "you got off to such a great start but then you diluted the brand, c'mon man."

I've bought from them a lot and someday I am going to actually visit. (I don't have occasion to sew dancewear but I am a sucker for shiny stretch fabrics for doll/plushmaking)

I learned to drive, and spouse grew up entirely, in the Midwest where the roads were laid out on a one-mile grid. Sometimes before any towns were founded. We moved to New Jersey in the age of GPS and the roads are all deer trails, there is not a 90-degree intersection here, HOW did people live.

a window i made probably 10-15 years ago just came back to the shop because the owners moved and wanted the hanging loops reoriented so it can hang horizontally instead of vertically. i loved this one, what a joy to see it again!
a stained glass panel in teals and turquoises of radiating circles emerging from a starting point at the tip of an arrow. the arrow extends most of the length of the panel and it is done in ambers, oranges, pinks, and greens

Spouse keeps answering Google Maps questions on the principle that "it helps other users." We've been married 30+ years and that is the most "he's a ten but" thing about him.

Cage walls and lid are the only things left on this one, which is functional except for occasionally sending one of the balls rolling away.
The lower half of a light blue GachaPop Lite capsule vending machine. The upper cage is just the corner posts.

Update: the sparrows had absolutely stripped the bushes, which usually keep their fruit through late winter, and just now I realized there were some disturbing noises coming from the window and house sparrows were... attempting to pull the window screens off?! THEY ARE COMING FOR ME, SEND HELP

After battling the settings, got it printing PETG again, except possibly the orange. Put it in the filament dryer (countertop oven on dehydrate mode) for awhile, but sidetracked myself printing a Lite (doesn't have to have the AMS disabled) and that'll be done in [checks notes] another 8-9 hours.

Ordered some small mochi (not water bead) squishes to put in the Halloween gachapon but they're completely unlabeled and kids are absolutely gonna eat them, this is not gonna work.
Tiny squishy toys in clear plastic. They're problematically bite sized. Like 100-calorie snack packs.

Went to the Witches Market at Rancocas Woods, got absolutely dumped on by rain out of the blue (vendor, frantically scrolling phone: "This was NOT ANYWHERE in the forecast!") but fortunately saw most stuff before the rain started and then just went "eh, won't melt" for the last half-dozen booths.

Does it have to be ocean fish? Because paddlefish are freaks, more so because lake fish are supposed to be *normal*. I was camping one time in IIRC Oklahoma and there was an enormous dead one on the shore and everybody was like "nope, not swimming in that lake now, that ain't right."

I watched that video fully expecting one or more of the other kids to go "I want a piece of this" and stick their head in the fence, rather than a very vanilla rescue. Kids do that all the time!

When you order your Snail Facts calendar, there is a thingy to also make a donation. Do that, tell me you've done that, and I will send you the slug (slugs is snails!). Not sure how practical shipping a slug and an 11x14 calendar is together but if you want I can try to make it happen?

Several weeks ago, Phil Tippett's legendary animation studio in Berkeley, CA closed. An anonymous hero noticed a folder of CDs. This turned out to be hundreds of unseen hi-res images and videos from Star Wars, Robocop, Jurassic Park, etc. ~90 isos for you to browse: archive.org/details/tipp...
A casual Star Wars alien fella at the cantina, in a sun faded, reddish photo. Someone will be mad at me for not knowing who this is. Phil, a balding Caucasian man, poses a model of the garthok, an antagonist from the Coneheads movie.Phil, a balding caucasian man, points at some CG on a CRT computer monitor, as a younger man looks on. The screen shows a model of a dinosaur attacking a jeep, while there's an actual physical model of that event in the foreground for reference.an isolated shot of a star wars vehicle. Sorry, I don't know star wars lol

We got some wireless intercoms that are really just walkie talkies with an intercom form factor, which is gonna result in the Gen X members of the household going full 1970’s CB Slang.

i got one of my favorite kickers in ages published this weekend www.ms.now/opinion/trum...
Given the difficulties Trump has had, there’s no telling when or how the Iran war will end. But the longer the conflict persists and oil shipments remain hindered, the more likely the shifts in oil demand we’re seeing are to become permanent.

This administration doing anything to purposefully encourage that outcome is deeply unlikely. But if I had a nickel for every time Trump accidentally drove down global carbon emissions through a terrible policy decision, I’d have two nickels. Which, as a fictional mad scientist once said, “isn’t a lot, but it’s weird that it happened twice, right?”
