Ivan Demidov yesterday on playing the first Habs preseason game: “We all miss hockey, so it was really good to come back and just play hockey. I’m so happy.”

it's way more fun (and useful?) to learn stats when you have actual data and questions you want answered anyways lol

silas / jas @silkquake.bsky.social · 16/09/2026

didn't take nearly enough stats classes in uni so half my stats knowledge is kinda self-taught anyways lol

silas / jas @silkquake.bsky.social · 16/09/2026

using hockey to dip my toes back into stats and data vis is kinda fun ngl

silas / jas @silkquake.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

i'm kinda chuffed that it's clear he did his homework and knew all the right things to say

silas / jas @silkquake.bsky.social · 13/09/2026

politely staying out of the conversation as a new habs fan. but this was suuuuch prime kent hughes bait.

Yeah, I'm boy crazy. I'm constantly thinking about masculinity, who gets granted and denied manhood, the spectrum and peculiarities of male friendship, and a broadening definition of being a man.

Singing Hills #8! Wandering cleric Chih and perfect hoopoe companion Almost Brilliant arrive at the imperial palace for a celebration of the life of the Empress of Salt and Fortune, where the food's amazing, the service is exemplary, and the clothes? Well, the clothes are just to die for. :P

A book cover on a tan background. The cover features a red kingfisher draped with a scrape of blue fabric, with a mirrored design on the lower corners of a threaded needle, and shears on the verge of cutting a twisting ribbon.

climate change is affecting us all and people are still slapping their art on outsourced, disposable, plastic shit, in fact most cons are almost exclusively that, we need to rethink this gang

pokemon tcg pocket decided to give me good cards of a bunch of my faves all in the same pack, bro i'm going to be pulling ruler of the skies foreverrrr 💀

silas / jas @silkquake.bsky.social · 27/07/2026

i bought this recently from my local indie comic bookstore! they had it on display and it was sooo eyecatching so it's extremely well-deserved on both your parts!! i haven't had time to dig into it yet but i'm very excited to 🥰

000

but when you bring in white writers who don't feel equipped to tackle that, you get something that feels incongruent with the aesthetics and it's a frustrating reminder of the missed opportunity of it all esp when (some of) the asian writers they do bring in have leaned into it and do it well!!

silas / jas @silkquake.bsky.social · 27/07/2026

like the thing is that i do think the fire nation was originally them drawing inspiration from japanese imperialism (same with earth kingdom & chinese imperialism).

silas / jas @silkquake.bsky.social · 26/07/2026

anyways here's me what i have to say about all of that in one of their recent books for avatar :) (will delete this tweet if op wants me to) www.goodreads.com/review/show/...

silas / jas @silkquake.bsky.social · 26/07/2026

it boggles my mind that they still get to do shit for avatar with so very little backlash from the fandom about it lol 🙃

silas / jas @silkquake.bsky.social · 25/07/2026

i've been letting go of the franchise for the better part of a decade atp and i feel like i've already grieved it lol

it's so funny, i was the zuko/avatar friend for years but i truly don't feel any particular way about parting ways with an IP determined to eat itself alive
