I’m trying to do some market research for gameswithoutads.org and I’m getting pissed off. The browser game space is so infested with ads that it’s actually gross. 🤮 some of these games seem fun, but the ads RUIN them. Imagine getting having to watch an ad mid-round in an online game of chess??

If I had a nickel for every time I’ve heard someone say "I hate ads," I’d have a bunch of nickels. Ads suck. They get in the way, slow things down, and nobody ever clicks them on purpose. I’m sick of ads, subscriptions, paywalls, and microtransactions. That’s why I made gameswithoutads.org

Call me crazy, but I feel like having a smaller, extremely dedicated fanbase of people that love your game is just as validating as having a popular game. My game in its current state has a 4~5 hour story campaign, but these players have gone well beyond that.

Just wanted to check in and let you know that I'm out here living my best life. I started working as a Firefighter / Paramedic in January and it's actually the best. I love my job, I love my fire department family, I love this little city, and I love it's residents. Life is so good right now.
