Finished reading Jackson Alone. Gripping, heartbreaking, and a little bit of fun. We appreciate a narrative about queer and racial intersectionality layered with symbolism and motifs.

They are very real! Their story is very wholesome and at times quite heartbreaking, but it is a beautiful film about female friendships, creativity and meeting face to face with your inner child. I hope they show it at a film festival near you soon! I know you will love it!

My creative output is a fraction of what it used to be, but this film made me so proud of teenage me making his frumpy little drawings and silly little tunes. Maybe he's still with me in some sort of form.

Watched Summer 2000: The X-Cetra Story at SFF26. The millenial experimental pop version of Shirkers (affectionate). It affirmed the unadulterated joy that stems from the creative process and pursuits, especially at the pre teen years when you're most creatively daring.

→ digital.asahi.com/sp/articles/...

Heartbroken and in disbelief to hear that Vidi Aldiano passed away last night. "Status Palsu" was everywhere when I visited family in Indonesia in 2009 and became one of many songs that defined that trip. 🥀 www.youtube.com/watch?v=26J0...

10 years ago, I felt like my world was crashing. My favourite group was essentially disbanding, I moved to a job that was way out of my depth, and every morning I'd walk to work while crying to this album. So much has changed since. Thank you Especia "CARTA" www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgNF...
