I'm trying my best to look for help in my local area, starting with potentially housing assistance. At this point, I don't mind public housing, or a shelter. The main thing is, I need a roof over my head, and a place where I can safely use my bipap machine.

So I'm officially in a CRISIS. My roommates are no longer able to house me due to financial reasons [one of them takes life saving medication that costs 500+ monthly, on top of rising rent]. I have 1 month to find a place in Western PA, or I'm forced to return to Texas. [I don't wanna go back.]

Well, somehow I'm actually SAFE from Discord's Age Gate.

Discord determined that I'm in the adult age group automatically, so nothing changes.

Whoof, Phototoxicity is no fun... I went out the other day to pick up something from the grocery store. Those very few minutes out in the sun was enough to burn me, been itching like hell and not even a back-scratcher nor aloe vera can help it. I guess with the meds I really am a vampire...

Doing some research about Aniimo before considering playing, the game itself doesn't seem to be AI Generated and the team as responded that they don't use it. There was a history that one advertisement was, but they apologized and withdrew it.

Is it just me or am I like one of the few people that enjoys the Synthesized versions of Dragon Quest music more than the actual Orchestrated versions? While the two are similar, I feel like the Synthesized version just fits better since it's a Video Game World after all.

You know, for someone born and raised in Texas for like, 30+ years, I'm like the most Un-texan Texan there ever was. It really could not pin how I speak, ultimately giving up and pointing me to Vermont with other states between 51% and 49%.

Sikata Raeda @sikata.northsky.social · 01/09/2026

I've had my first night on the BiPAP machine... first thing that comes to mind... "Where did my brain go?" In all seriousness, I used to wake up with a really bad migraine and brain fog due to low OSat% in my sleep. Today it's like, the pain wasn't there, I feel... fine? Is this... normal?

030

Sikata Raeda @sikata.northsky.social · 26/08/2026

Whoo! After this bizarre month of medical fumbles and an ER trip, I'm finally getting the BiPAP machine I so desperately need. I can't wait to get acclimated to it, finally rest, and finally have my body actually heal again.

Sikata Raeda @sikata.northsky.social · 25/08/2026

Ah there we go, finally got the okay and migrated my main account to Northsky. My Twitch handle will remain on Bluesky for now until such a time there's a more twitch friendly PDS.

I ended up at the ER again... Whoops... I'll explain more later.

So uh... The majority of my health problems are linked to the fact that I suffocate in my sleep, and I suffocate because my airway collapses. The CPAP machine won't cure my HS BUT it should make healing from the wounds faster. That's a lot to break down and it circles around that device.

Sikata Raeda @sikata.northsky.social · 09/08/2026

You know what Rowling largely ruined for me? The use of magic wands as an every day commodity. Don't get me wrong, magic wands have been around WELL before that, but they used to be an archetype, either used by a specific individual, a fabled weapon, or an item in DND/Pathfinder/Games and whatnot.

Sikata Raeda @sikata.northsky.social · 07/08/2026

Welp, the sleep study has concluded, apparently my results were so bad that I'm guaranteed a CPAP machine. On the bright side, hopefully once it arrives, that'll mean far more restful sleep.

Sikata Raeda @sikata.northsky.social · 03/08/2026

So health update. I got bloodwork and a sleep study this week. This is gonna be weird.

011

Sikata Raeda @sikata.northsky.social · 30/07/2026

I finally managed to see my new doctor in what felt like over a decade... HOOH Boy there's alot of things to unpack, I need some Bloodwork Done, and I need to go into an In-Lab Sleep Study, but, for once, it feels like things are being threaded back together.

I've been thinking about the times I've visitied Pittsburgh and got to use one of those KultureCity bags. Yes I'm neurodivergent, and yes, loud places make my brain so full of static that not only am I overwhelmed, but I mentally shut down.

I'm currently debating joining a Furry Matrix/Element server if there's any out there. I tried a few in the past but either the server died, or my credentials were lost in some way.

Well... Unfortunately I won't be going to Anthrocon this year. The logistics of it wasn't possible, and I kinda got left behind.

I've been watching some old Japanese video game commercials and uh... huh... this is giving me some ideas, involving the Louie/Rui. Not to mention, The Louies are adorable to begin with so.

A frame of an old Japanese commercial, namely one for Super Bomberman 3. Note the scale of the animated White Bomber and Louie/Rui in comparison to the Human Actors.

Yeah... Furality is over, the Ultravox Prism Servers are offline but. Don't forget, in real life, dedicated fans were able to archive, reverse engineer, and bring back in part what would've been lost to time, whether it's things like the satellaview, the Sega Channel or even old mmos (unofficially)

A photo of Cipher at the Furality Ultraplex Mall. She is a digital blue hardlight avali, with a ground effect underneath her. Her convention badge is floating above her head because that is indeed a valid way to wear one's badge.

I can't seem to escape the Avali Allegations... For context, I stream on Twitch as Cipher the Digital Avali (since I can't be a Ferrin yet), but the more my friends see my streams and clips, the more they're convinced that I legit sound like an Avali. Do I really sound like one?

With the upcoming re-release of Starfox, the wheels are set in motion. I know this is going to convert people into furries, especially those that already had a sci-fi disposition. I might be a greymuzzle in terms of my time as one, but I am curious to see the new OCs people come up with.

Sikata Raeda @sikata.northsky.social · 05/05/2026

On another note, I'm starting to learn how to operate a Kamvas 13 Gen 3. I've uh, never drawn before, and it's the first time I've had a drawing tablet like this. So right now I've been kinda scribbling, trying to find some settings and adjust. I calibrated the pressure and krita's stabilization.

You know, sometimes I do ponder where my life would've taken me had I not been disabled. It's not so much regretting being disabled, but I do ponder the path that could've been. My current path, meeting people across the globe, being an avali on twitch and having friends? I couldn't give that up.

You know what really bothers me about Games with Gacha mechanics? Yes there can be some REALLY good character designs, characters you REALLY want to play, but they either end up in a tier that is outclassed by characters I don't care for, or are in a top tier that is already hard to get with RNG.

It seems me being critical of the "AI" we have right now has put me in bsky's no-no zone. Kinda makes me wonder what Cipher would say about this. It's disappointing seeing what qualifies as "AI" these days, content slop mills and broken "vibe coding" that pollutes water and wastes electricity.

I had a very stupid shower thought earlier. You know the meme that Protogen consume ram? Well, I had a thought. Imagine if your robotic pal, be it a Protogen, Synth, or Similar could synthesize items on the spot by being fed raw materials? Low on Ammo? Feed them the mats and bam, ammo box.

You know what would be a neat little detail in RPG video games. If you pull up your inventory to use an item, and a hand cursor appears to the Lower Left OR Lower Right of the item depending on the current character's dominant hand. It's a random thought, but something I thought about a fair bit.

So Pokemon Champions came out, and a friend convinced me to check it out. Not even out a single day and I somehow got a Day One Shiny Recruit. HOW?! #pokemonchampions

A screen of Pokemon Champions, showing a Shiny Male Chandelure registered as a Permanent Recruit. It's Green with Purple Eyes and a Red Fire instead of it's usual colors.

Whoof, some days it feels like I've no energy at all. I made salmon for dinner, ate, then crashed out so hard for like 3 hours. It felt like all my spoons just fell out of me like a certain hedgehog with his rings, except I don't get those back as easily.

So lately I've been playing some Elite Dangerous off steam. Sometimes I just need to vibe in a digital galaxy, fly deep in the black and just do whatever. I admit sometimes I play ED like a first person shooter, but if it rewards me with credits to upgrade and buy new ships. I can't complain.

If the rumors about Windows 12 are true, I might need to go Linux Distro Diving again. I know theres some game specific ones like Steam's own OS but I also want to find something somewhat similar to the windows I remember. I know there's Zorin OS and Linux Mint but what else is out there?

Oh yeah! It's Macro March! One of my favorite times of the year... For obvious reasons. It's a time of different perspectives, whether you're looking up at a giant, or looking down at folks so small, I like to see the artwork of such. Personally I wouldn't mind being on the bigger side of things.
