Per Daniel Popper and Over The Cap, the Chargers are projected to receive a 6th round compensatory pick for RB JK Dobbins. Much needed, if true.

Doing a mock draft with only 5 picks is kinda depressing tbh... Joe Hortiz should absolutely trade down multiple times in April.

I think these poor Notre Dame tackles are gonna have nightmares about Rueben Bain and Akheem Mesidor for the rest of their lives. Probably the most dominant game tape I've ever watched from an EDGE duo. Bain will be long gone by the time the Chargers pick, but am definitely curious about Mesidor.

Not sure why are they some Chargers fans who think Omarion Hampton isn't a fit in Mike McDaniel's offense. I think he is going to absolutely feast next season as long as he stays healthy. Especially with better health up front.

Steven Haglund @sihaglund01.bsky.social · 11/02/2026

If the Chargers are going to spend on an external defensive free agent this year, DT John Franklin-Myers is my top choice. Finished last season tied for 18th in total pressures with 39 8 sacks was tied for 5th 12.7 pass rush win rate was tied tied for 15th on PFF and was 8th in ESPN’s at 10%.

Watch Clemson DT Peter Woods (#11) win against the RT's down block and then also win against the pulling guard for this TFL. There are definitely some inconsistencies to his tape from 2025 but I just can't ignore his elite flashes.

Cole Strange is a name to keep an eye on for the Chargers next month imo. Left a really good impression on Mike McDaniel and Butch Barry last year. Would be a really good option for the backup swing IOL spot. t.co/wmYjHXvMFC

Should be a significantly better free agent guard group this year which should help the Chargers solidify that group. David Edwards is my top option but Isaac Seumalo or Wyatt Teller would help a lot too. Obviously have the Alijah Vera-Tucker connection with Chad Alexander but that's much riskier.

If the Chargers are going to pay up for an external veteran WR, the only one I’m particularly interested in is Rashid Shaheed. Otherwise they can find their gadget/return specialist in the draft and be comfortable rolling into next season with Ladd, QJ, Tre, KLS, and that rookie imo.

I wouldn’t be mad at the Chargers if they spend big in free agency to fix the center spot (Linderbaum or McGovern), but I’m really liking this center class so far. Connor Lew, Sam Hecht, Logan Jones, and Jager Burton all stand out as strong potential fits in Mike McDaniel’s scheme.

So refreshing to hear Mike McDaniel's approach to calling offense. The Chargers are in such good hands with him!

Some names to keep an eye on for Chargers new OC Mike McDaniel's staff: - Frank Smith 🐐 - Butch Barry (current MIA OL coach) - Dwayne Ledford (former Falcons OL coach) - Chandler Henley (current MIA run game specialist) - Josh Grizzard (former TB OC/MIA WR's)

Entire AFC was kind of a mess this year. Don’t think either of these teams are actually Super Bowl good. Bummer the Chargers couldn’t take advantage.

The Ravens are hiring Dennard Wilson as their defensive coordinator. Wilson interviewed with the Chargers earlier this weekend. The Giants had also been linked to Anthony Weaver and Jim Leonhard

Some of my favorite Antonio Gates memories in honor of his hall of fame induction today: - My first Chargers game in person vs Bills in 2005 - 7 for 118 and 2 touchdowns on Thanksgiving weekend 2009 vs KC - Career TD’s #100 and #101 vs Steelers in 2015 - Breaking the TD record in 2017 Congrats, 🐐🫡

Question following our show tonight: where did the Chargers make their biggest offensive upgrade this offseason? A) RB Dobbins/Edwards - Harris/Hampton B) TE Hurst/Smartt - Conklin/Gadsden C) X WR Chark/Fehoko - Williams/Harris D) RG Pipkins - Becton

The Chargers ranked 19th in RB rushing yards before contact in 2024, despite the weaknesses of the interior OL. Perhaps is the main reason why they picked up Najee and drafted Hampton. (Graphic via Ian Hartitz on Twitter.)

Per multiple sources, there were at least three other teams interested in Khalil Mack’s services. One team even offered him a 3 year contract. But he believes in Jim Harbaugh’s vision and didn’t want to leave LA, just needed the contract to work.

My 2025 Free Agency Non-Negotiables for the #Chargers: • Sign two starting IOL (Will Fries and Ben Bredeson as an example) • Sign a vertically proficient WR (Adams still preference #1, but Darius Slayton would help a lot) • Sign a veteran CB to compete for a starting role • Re-sign Mack and Ford

3101

Steven Haglund @sihaglund01.bsky.social · 07/03/2025

So after the Chargers cut Joey Bosa they have $90 million in cap space. $12 million ish to sign the draft class Assuming Khalil Mack returns, his cap hit would likely be around $20 million In season budget is usually around $8 million So basically they have $50 million in cap spending space

1120

Steven Haglund @sihaglund01.bsky.social · 17/02/2025

Table of every WR potentially available this offseason ranked in Yards per route run vs man coverage, vs Zone coverage, YAC/reception, and ESPN’s open score. Davante Adams makes so much sense for the Chargers.

290

Steven Haglund @sihaglund01.bsky.social · 14/02/2025

I think there are 4 top, or near the top, of the market free agents at their positions in this cycle: WR Tee Higgins, OG Trey Smith, DL Milton Williams, and DL Osa Odighizuwa. If all 4 hit free agency, I would rank them as follows for the Chargers: 1. Smith 2. Williams 3. Higgins 4. Odighizuwa

2153

Steven Haglund @sihaglund01.bsky.social · 13/02/2025

So Davante Adams is likely going to be released which means he won’t count against the comp pick formula. And he wants to play on the west coast again. He checks a lot of boxes for the Chargers imo. Only question is what # he wears since he can’t use 17, 15 (his Fresno State #) or 10 (his HS #).

Eagles EDGE rusher Bryce Huff represents a really good non-Myles Garrett trade target at that position for the Chargers imo. The way his contract is set up they’d only take on about $34 million in cash spread across 4 years and cap hits of around $5 million for the next two.

Steven Haglund @sihaglund01.bsky.social · 05/02/2025

This is a great draft to need defensive line help which is awesome for the Chargers. Absolutely want them to come away with an edge rusher and DT in the first 4 rounds

I’m a fan of this possible Chargers offensive line in 2025: LT - Rashawn Slater LG - Patrick Mekari (FA) C - Bradley Bozeman RG - Will Fries (FA) RT - Joe Alt Backups Zion Johnson and Jamaree Salyer + a rookie draft pick with center flex.
