So much love for Robin Fox. Also, if they break, learning *why* gives you so much intuition for anything you make in the future in both related and unrelated fields. Break all the things. Fix all the things. Open Source all the things. #FACT2026

"I think of setting intentions this way as a kind of farfetching, in the sense of bringing something from far away up close, where you can get a better look at it, where you can better understand its contours and shape. Where you can contemplate what it's asking of you and what you are asking of it. Instead of wishing for a different future, farfetching invites you to haul that future into the present— in bits and pieces, if that's what it takes. It trades an empty hand for one with a grip on what's possible. All you have to do is pull."

One of my favourite moments walking to work is the transition into the parklands. I’m in a serene bubble of noise cancellation with traffic streaming by, and then as soon as I enter the trees I switch to transparent mode and the bird sounds open up and burst into my ears.

15kW of solar and a 13.5kWh battery covered us for peak Adelaide summer energy use during a 40° day. Topped up the car, kept the house cool, recharged the home battery, exported battery power to the grid when it was struggling, and still generated 33kW more than we used. ☀️🔋🖤
A graph of our total solar production of 71.9kWh for the day.A graph from the perspective of our home battery showing our home used 4.5kWh after the sun went down, and the supported the grid with 1.6kWh when it was struggling.A graph from the perspective of the grid showing our home drawing 1kWh when the grid had excess power, and our solar exporting 32.6kWh of excess power during the day.
