I recently listened to Lights Out by Navessa Allen. For what it’s about, I think the author did an amazing job makin it reasonable & funny. AND the narrators did an incredible job bringin it to life. I was not expectin to enjoy it as much as I did!! If you’re into masked-stalker romances, ✅ it out!

I need Hollywood to do a better job adapting novels. I just watched a movie that was released a week or so ago & it was atrocious how much they changed. You picked this book because it was well liked. Why are you changing it? The things the movie got right did not make up for what it got wrong.

Decided to experiment & so I put my work back on KU. I haven’t done any advertising and I’ve only been in KU for maybe five days. I already have some pages read (thank u readers). No wonder people can’t quit Amazon. I wanted Kobo to be more successful for me, but my time there was fruitless. Sigh.

Just watched Project Hail Mary for the first time. Little creature characters need to stop grabbing my heart. Like I will fight you if you hurt my precious lil baby. Needless to say, that movie had me STRESSED for a bit. What do you mean I’ve fallen in love w/ a rock spider? Amaze! Amaze! Amaze!

I took my books off of Amazon a while back & have been struggling w/ it ever since. I hate Amzn & how it's handling things, but I agree - I've had no progress as an indie author since leaving it. As much as I want to help open other avenues, Amzn has us locked in..sigh briarblack.com/is-amazon-st...

Every time a read one of Suzanne Collins’ books I am blown away but how talented she is. I’m always finding a new detail, a new connection, a deeper meaning. All five books in the Hunger Games series are master classes in telling a tale.

I recently finished reading Heartstopper and now I can’t wait to watch the show. Right now, I’m reading Solitaire (a novel Alice Oseman wrote before Heartstopper with Tori, Charlie’s sister, as the MC). I think once I finish Solitaire, Nick and Charlie, and This Winter, I’ll dive into the show!

Typing out the complete outline for a story is so satisfying. I know that it’s all planned & now I just need to make it happen. The “makin it happen” will still be tough, but at least I have a plan. 🥰 #writer Now… to finish editing my gargoyle/incubi romance as I write this ogre/incubi one.

When you’re enjoying a series and then realize the next several books all have single parents/surprise baby situations and that’s very rarely something you’re interested in. So I’m going from reading a book a day to debating my next move. Decisions, Decisions. #reade

When you look at IMDB and see casting information that includes Marvel spoilers. I can’t believe it’s out there already. I thought only one character/casting was public for the new wave.

I think that mini series would be such a smart way to tell comic book stories. Each episode could cover a volume. It would also allow for so much character progression. Think batfam - over a few series you could reasonably intro multiple Robins, build the Justice League, etc.

Honestly, the worst part of the Super Mario Galaxy Movie is that we didn’t get another banger of a song. As a middle school teacher, watching kids sing “Peaches” from their soul was so much fun. I would have loved another catchy tune. 😅

Pride and Prejudice book rec.

Most Ardently was a fun version of the classic. I am not trans, but I felt like the author did an amazing job conveying the feelings and complexities of existing in a world that might not welcome you.

Parts of this was the biggest of warm hugs! Also, There were more twists from the original than I’d expected.

I don’t want it at all. Also, Terminator anyone? Ultron? Hello! But seriously. I need excessive AI to go away.

Please ignore all the #Supergirl hate. I walked in yesterday thinking I was about to watch something truly bad and it’s not. Is it a great movie? No. But it was good. Just like Superman, the things they did well were done really well. It’s a shame everyone is writing off the DCU now over this.
