shopping new cell phone plan, and also probably a new phone. I'm a Pixel loyalist (yeah I know sue me) but when choosing storage capacity, I had a strange like realization that its wild that half a fucking terabyte on a phone is like, normal now. 15 years ago that would be nuts

Went to go throw in the park field. The air was cool, unrepressive. It was inviting, even. I felt rejuvenated and replenished, instead of a puddle of exhaustion. I'm so psyched for Fall.

I've been playing AM2R lately and it is so much fun. Exactly what I needed to get my Metroid fix until I can afford a Switch for Dread and Ravenous

Ugh. This might be a hot take/risque statement but, Humans are not meant to work so much. We are meant to eat, and play and sleep, and fuck. All I want to do is those things. Fuck capitalism

Played a speedy round to beat the sunset and I successfully played all 18 holes of disc golf so I was feeling myself. I'm not really all-that but half of being all-that is just forcing the belief. Eh I don't know self esteem is weird

Alright I think it's time I finally formally recommend this album Usually if a large number of songs from an album get stuck in my head through a week, it's time to talk about it and let people know

010

Ben Solo @sicrhythm.bsky.social · 08/09/2026

maybe it doesn't have to be 100%, but it has to be more than nothing

I think my chromecast is almost giving out. Almost made it ten full years

I like how Nathan Queen just carries a full sized beach towel on the course

It is so annoyingly hard for me to gain weight. I'll have to figure out my own way to do it but UGH

010

Ben Solo @sicrhythm.bsky.social · 03/09/2026

For me, that was disc golf. And then I found more motivation to work out so I could play more and better disc golf. But, I still have many "lazy" days

MY DOG IS 7 YEARS OLD NEXT MONTH AND THAT LEGITIMATELY FEELS INSANE. WHAT IS TIME

Oh fuuuuuu and their Duo??? I need that.

I would totally buy a Rainers disc or two. Haven't thrown a Roc but a Rainers Roc sounds sick

Ben Solo @sicrhythm.bsky.social · 01/09/2026

I wish I would have seen them live back then but I'm glad they're back together for another album so I might get to see them this time around. Sound and Color absolutely obliterates my soul every time I listen to it, still to this day.

Alabama Shakes released their new album on Friday but I'm afraid of listening to it because I'm pretty sure I will perish from pure emotional release

230

Ben Solo @sicrhythm.bsky.social · 30/08/2026

Whew I don't know that I could ever partake in that but that is so crazy that those exist too. Also "hey we need one that kills animals at one touch incase they get swallowed or touched"

Ben Solo @sicrhythm.bsky.social · 30/08/2026

Frogs are such interesting creatures. Nature was like "we need a slimy little guy that eats lots of bugs and primarily need a lot of water so it swims but it also is very good at jumping." And then Nature was also like "we also need a uglier, tankier version. How about Toads?"

I mean leaving the site that I've been on for 16 years isn't going to stop people being obstinate about the way that Ledgestone runs tournaments or the way that Republicans are turning the country into a Christofascist hellscape, but I hear you.

I think I sometimes lean into the "the verbose post implies serious deadpan" thing too much

There's a dg guy on twitter that has been insufferably argumentative about the most stupid stuff lately. But it's challenging me to present clear and thorough arguments

As soon as Aaron Gossage starts showing visible frustration, it's probably over for him. His game drops like crazy. after the 1st time he slaps his own knee or hand after a bad result. I hope he keeps his head on straight, if nothing else but to pressure the rest of the top.

230

Ben Solo @sicrhythm.bsky.social · 29/08/2026

I feel you. I do kinda hope that Missy or Rebecca can put on a little pressure but if she can just replicate the past couple days that would look cool. I'm psyched to see how MPO is panning out. Isaac and Gannon are trying but they're not alone up there

010

Ben Solo @sicrhythm.bsky.social · 29/08/2026

The 18th hole at Toboggan is cool in concept in relation to throwing techniques but it looks so weird off the tee. That angle makes it look small compared to the rest of the course.

010

Ben Solo @sicrhythm.bsky.social · 29/08/2026

Sadly my FPO favs are definitely out of it. I love Eve but I have a couple other favs before her

130

Ben Solo @sicrhythm.bsky.social · 29/08/2026

I really want to mention who I'm rooting for at Worlds in MPO but also I don't want to jinx it.......

I'm going to say it Red bell peps are way better than green bell peps.

Started feeling bleh right as I started my shower so I just did what I could to clean essentials quickly. Which meant skipping my hair. Not getting your head wet but taking a shower for everything else feels weird.

I'll admit, they lure me in when they stick purely to disc golf and being a little silly. But if they step even a millimeter outside that field, any credible respectability that they might seemingly have flies out the window. There's so much better content out there.

Ben Solo @sicrhythm.bsky.social · 26/08/2026

It's honestly hard to tell how earnest their interest in FPO are, I don't want to go as far as to judge them for that. But they definitely hold MPO to a higher standard and pull the usual gender-strengths arguments for FPO analysis

Had to head to the youtube to see who agreed with me or who agreed with his fuck-ass take. Way too many men are overvaluing how much Pro DG is providing for its players. This whole situation is way more of an indictment of the Pro DG industry than anything else imo

Ben Solo @sicrhythm.bsky.social · 25/08/2026

Most of the time, they are just Disc Golfy enough for me to not pay attention to their annoyingness. They are decent players. But that's just me as a disc golf super fanatic. It's slowly becoming not enough though. There are definitely way better disc golf podcasts if you like the sport enough

040

Ben Solo @sicrhythm.bsky.social · 25/08/2026

I mostly only listen to them because usually it's pretty mild and innocuous when it gets off topic and Grip Locked is one of the more consistent podcasts. But I don't know this was just, Bleh I can't stand Brodie sometimes and they are terrible at uploading on time so I've fallen off them.

-as important as what he seems to imply is a frivolous rafting trip. Trevor pushed back and was like "well it's probably difficult to get selected for the rafting, and she also has a 0% chance of winning Worlds. Hunter didn't like that at all. Just completely ridiculous

140

Ben Solo @sicrhythm.bsky.social · 25/08/2026

The whole thing was Taylor is skipping Worlds this year because she has the opportunity to take a two week rafting trip down the Grand Canyon, which is granted by like a lottery system. Something like 1-4% chance to get it. Hunter was livid that she isn't regarding disc golf-

140

Ben Solo @sicrhythm.bsky.social · 25/08/2026

Geezus, just listened to the GripLocked show for Worlds Hunter is being entirely completely over dramatic about Taylor Chocek. Like, just absolutely crazy and reductive and assumptive. But maybe he's just being inflammatory on purpose. Hard to say.

Ben Solo @sicrhythm.bsky.social · 25/08/2026

Bluesky keeps signing me out and I couldn't be bothered to find my info to sign again. But I had to share some outrage about Hunter from Foundation Disc Golf so I'm back

Fuck it, if my body can't for some reason find the way to drive to a field or a course I'm going to sweat my ass off anyway in the backyard and jump some rope and practice some putts

030

Ben Solo @sicrhythm.bsky.social · 02/08/2026

I read a post one time that said something like "one day I realized we were just two people that were comfortable living together" and that kind of stung

Ben Solo @sicrhythm.bsky.social · 02/08/2026

what is my fucking problem why do I let my perception of other people's emotions slow me down god damn it

I've lost a lot of motivation lately for a lot of things and I don't know what the problem is.

Ben Solo @sicrhythm.bsky.social · 02/08/2026

That sounds awesome honestly, I've been looking for something in between my Toro and my throwing putters. Usually that's the Envy but I want something a little different for forehands. It also kinda feels like a beaded Tomb or something
