TERF island: No! Pupils and parents cannot decide their names and pronouns! The school must follow policy! Also TERF island: How outrageous schools have this policy! No! Muslims must not be required to veil! That's up to the child and the parents!

I don't understand you kids - nearly every episode of season one was a masterpiece - that's why you still know about trek today. My personal favourite line is from "Naked Time". Sulu is hallucinating and grabs Uhura and says, "I'll protect you fair maiden", and she says, "Sorry. Neither". X-D

Note that nobody (barring a few intimates) knows anything about Rowling's "body". Her millions of followers have no info of her genitalia, chromosomes, gametes. If everything else is "stereotypes" (gender), that's ALL that's relevant to the outside world, and any sexism she experiences. Not trivial

Fact: Regret from transition related surgeries is extraordinarily low compared to common surgeries for cisgender people.
"A total of 55 articles examining regret after plastic surgery were included. The percentage of patients reporting regret ranged from 0 to 47.1 % in breast reconstruction, 5.1–9.1 % in breast augmentation, and 10.82–33.3 % in body contouring. In other surgical subspecialties, 30 % of patients experience regret following prostatectomy and up to 19.5 % following bariatric surgery. Rate of regret after GAS is approximately 1 %. Other life decisions, such as having children and getting a tattoo have regret rates of 7 % and 16.2 %, respectively.
When comparing regret after GAS to regret after other surgeries and major life decisions, the percentage of patients experiencing regret is extremely low."

Imagine being so delusional you think, "tr*nnies are perverts", is "rebellious" rather than exactly what you'd hear from every misogynist old bloke down the pub.

if you read the actual judgement, he stressed he was NOT defining a woman outside of marriage - ONLY for the purposes of marriage. (And the reasoning was thoroughly misogynistic: The purpose of a wife is to give men babies. Therefore, in marriage, "wife" is defined by reproductive biology.)

Biology is not destiny A person's body; a person's choice A right to self determination A right to not be forced into boxes because of how you were born A right to evidence-based healthcare RESPECT Q: What am I describing? Feminism or trans rights? (A: Trick question - they're the same thing)

To put it another way, the actual Suffragette movement had much, much, much more in common with the movement for trans equality and acceptance then it does with the reactionary "gender critical" movement.

Silentbob @si1entb0b.bsky.social · 02/08/2026
Well it's not hackneyed in my opinion as long as there are people calling for "sex based rights" and having the nerve to drape themselves in suffragette colours. It needs restating again and again. ACTUAL Suffragettes stood for equality and inclusion, not discrimination and exclusion.

Reality check: "Women's hard won rights": - did NOT include defining women by biology, the slogan was "biology is not destiny!" - did NOT seek sex segregation, they fought for inclusion of women - did NOT advocate "sex-based rights", they fought AGAINST that and FOR equality regardless of sex

4/x We will never have a society where trans people have EQUAL rights with cis people until all these are true. I fear we are at minimum decades away
080
Silentbob @si1entb0b.bsky.social · 08/07/2026
3/x - non binary identities are treated as equally valid as binary identities with gender neutral facilities and ID documents commonplace - deliberate misgendering is socially on a par with the use of racial slurs
040
Silentbob @si1entb0b.bsky.social · 08/07/2026
2/x - trans healthcare is desegregated and a matter dealt with by your local GP - whether or not an individual is trans or cis is regarded as a private matter and no one else's business
040
Silentbob @si1entb0b.bsky.social · 08/07/2026
1/x The bare minimum for trans people to have equal rights in society would be: - all gender segregated spaces are on the basis of the gender you actually live as - all sex or gender identity markers are on the basis of what you actually live as

Silentbob @si1entb0b.bsky.social · 08/07/2026
They are deliberatly ignoring indirect discrimination, which is where a minority has the same rights as the majority but those rights harm the minority and not the majority. E.g. a society where one may marry the "opposite sex". Gay people may have the SAME right - but it is not an EQUAL right.

I'll go with calling a photo of a cis female Olympic boxer consoling her opponent a, "male who knows he’s protected by a misogynist sporting establishment enjoying the distress of a woman he’s just punched in the head". Not because it's the worst thing. Just the most obviously unhinged..

To be clear the "gay" people she's talking about being beaten up and raped in jail are trans people. At the time "gay" was used as a catch-all term like "queer" today.

1/2 Rooney is full-on TERF and the intent of this book was entirely transphobic. It's intended to shame kids with gender dysphoria to think they're bad for being uncomfortable with their sex traits and not wanting to go through the wrong puberty. Trans shaming dressed up as body positivity.

No, the law didn't change. It was just "clarified" to mean the exact opposite of what everyone including the EHRC and entire legal profession thought it meant for the decade and a half since it was passed. Even FWS lost twice in the lower courts before the SC "clarified" all other courts were wrong.

When the campaign against trans people began, I thought they had two unassailable things on their side: The science, and the law -both totally on trans feminist's side. They wiped out the first with the bogus Cass review. And the second with the supreme court. And I'm left gaping like a fool. WTF?!

I remember an episode of "the Bill" where former DS Ted Roach has a trans friend, and PC Stamp mocks her and says, "it's a bloke, innit", and Roach says, "She's a woman!" (then alas misgenders her as the punchline). In 2000, everyone knew misgendering was offensive. www.facebook.com/watch/?v=191...

Right? It's the unwritten subtext of Abigail Shrier's "Irreversible Damage". "This vessel that was supposed to have been for the use of men is now ruined!" "Pert healthy breasts cut off!" "How can they now fulfill their womanly duty as sex objects and birthing machines?"

Always remember they have to make shit up because they've got nothing. There simply is no rational basis for transphobia whatsoever. So it's all based on unhinged lurid fantasies completely disconnected from reality. They tilt at windmills because they've got nothing else.

The lyric: Don't stand in the doorway Don't block up the hall refers to segregationists literally standing in school doorways to keep the Black kids out. How can they not see Rowling metaphorically standing in the ladies' room door to keep the trans girls out is an exact parallel? So unaware!

Yes, and this must include deliberate misgendering dressed up as "neutral". Like calling trans men "biological females" or "biological women" or calling trans women "a man who identifies as a woman" to use the disgusting language that was actually in the FWS Supreme Court judgement. No excuse.

Especially when said group is a protected minority, as least theoretically. Gender reassignment has been a protected characteristic for at least a decade and a half, but somehow it's okay to have a "charity" that does nothing but campaign against their inclusion and acceptance in society. 🤔

I don't criticize women's appearance - I do criticize hypocrisy: Imagine having that much plastic surgery, that botoxy face, that orange hair, and having the absolute nerve to call anyone else "a parody of a woman". 🤨 So much of TERFism is just pure projection.

Look. You don't have to "go along" with anything. It is literally no different to a woman marrying and taking her husband's name (traditional) or not (progressive). It's *up to her* if she's Mrs Husband or Ms Maiden, not up to you. Whether as person is "he" "she" or "they" is entirely up to them.

Another cool thing about Chevalière d'Éon: She is not only referred to as a woman by Mary Wollstonecraft in her seminal feminist text "A Vindication of the Rights of Woman", but as a woman to be admired as a role model because of her "male education". True feminism has *always* been trans inclusive.
