I have no idea how I managed to do this in one sitting but it was more fun than I expected

I don’t want games. I want the dragon. I want to buy the dragon

Found a copy of this game today and immediately picked it up, genuinely one of the most formative games for me growing up. The fact that today is Pokémon Mystery Dungeon's anniversary as well makes it even better

Just had the realization that there is now an official piece of media where Kingdom Hearts characters can occupy the same space as characters from an SMG4-adjacent show

I can tell X4 is gonna be my favorite of the Mega Man X series because it looks the prettiest but ALSO it starts with two dragon characters back to back

It's Pokémon Mystery Dungeon day today, figured I'd share this render I made years ago for the same occasion lol

Blender/SM64 render of Rhys sitting by a table with Chalius (Riolu) and Alice (Fennekin) by him. Alice is wearing Rhys's hat.

So like we can all agree Splatoon is a top 3 Nintendo franchise right

I still hold the opinion that mobile gacha games aren’t inherently bad on their own, but after seeing the full cinematic I fully admit that they really shot themselves in the foot by making this game mobile lol

Not sure how to feel about Palworld, like I'm mildly curious about it but I have no idea what it's even trying to be. A survival shooter monster catcher hybrid with knockoff Pokemon designs? Idk it just seems unfocused

Shyrx / DaybreakAura @shyrx.bsky.social · 10/07/2026

Hot take but I hope Spyro ARB isn't just "another classic Spyro game" I find Reignited Trilogy too barebones by platformer standards and would like it if the new game leaned more into action and a proper sense of progression with your abilities, like the Legend trilogy but actually good

With how difficult it is to make the series nowadays, I'm currently experimenting with taking World Traveler 64 in a different direction. It's still a bit early to say for sure but I'll provide an update if anything happens.

Shyrx / DaybreakAura @shyrx.bsky.social · 11/06/2026

Okay so apparently Spyro's views are mainly from ad rolls and not from people actually clicking on the trailer. If I had to make an estimate, the true view count is like 800k at most. KH4's trailer has less than 1M and it has way more likes and comments.

Shyrx / DaybreakAura @shyrx.bsky.social · 03/06/2026

That State of Play was pretty much exactly what I expect Summer Games Fest to be like, just a bunch of western hyper-realistic AAA slop with 2-3 mildly cool announcements

010

Shyrx / DaybreakAura @shyrx.bsky.social · 30/05/2026

The more people argue about KH2 vs KH3 on Twitter the more I'm inclined to hate on KH3 simply because that game's fans act so damn smug about liking it over KH2. Just play what you like to play and shut up

000

Shyrx / DaybreakAura @shyrx.bsky.social · 25/05/2026

Been playing the DLC for Mario Wonder and I gotta say, if a game is gonna force you to grind for 100%, they really need to have an ability to skip a lot of the superfluous stuff like level/menu transitions and instruction screens. That time adds up!

movies named after some of my favorite video games ever that are also completely terrible at actually adapting said games

010

Shyrx / DaybreakAura @shyrx.bsky.social · 06/04/2026

Idk I had *some* fun with it. I unfortunately can't call it much of a good movie because so much of it is dedicated to scenes that don't progress the VERY barebones plot in any way and just exist for more reference/action stuff. The first movie had some substance. This movie's forgettable. :(

Unfortunately for me I won't be able to see the Mario Galaxy movie until the weekend, meaning I have to sift through an agonizing 5 days of weaving through spoilers and wondering if I'll even like the movie based on what people have said about it already

If I ever make a "real" game someday, I want it to be an action RPG with the art style of a fantasy-cartoon PS2 game where you play as a dragon. Basically just The Legend of Spyro with a bunch of Kingdom Hearts influence, plus my personal touch of character writing and worldbuilding
