In the Evolution version of 3rd, once you go NG+ you can get a permit that drops from the Black Knight, and this unlocks an even harder version of the Nightmare Arena where you aren't just fighting Loewe and Cassius... but Arianrhod on top of it as well.

Also for Cassius dialog, people have created an image compiling all his dialog with the other characters.

Pre-battle dialog with Cassius in Trails in the Sky the 3rd, in which he addresses optional party members with unique dialog. I apologize, but I do not currently possess the time to summarize each one.

When it comes to young Dorothy in Moon Door 2, she does show up more in it, however, you have to see a scene after Schera and Aina exist the department store for those to "unlock". For the Dorothy scenes they're at 10:59, a slight dialog change at 36:23 and 44:31. www.youtube.com/watch?v=iXE1...

I am starting a studio! We are small and scrappy and have no money. Why am I doing this? Because the only ones who can protect art are the ones who value it. Disney using AI? Yuck. Netflix buying WB? Also yuck. In 10 years what is even going to be left.

I think part of the reason was that two of the writers on Zeta and ZZ seemed to have differing views on Fa, so anytime Endo's in charge she sucks as a pilot and others think so as well, but when Suzuki's in charge she's really good but hampered by circumstances and others agree. It's kind of funny.

I believe ChairmanMeow was the name of the senior editor's cat. Similar to another message that brought up Mr. Tiddles, the name of a cat for an editor. Although, Tiddles is a reoccurring reference from XSEED themselves as they put it everywhere, I believe it originated from a BlazBlue achievement.

Just finished what you've released of the podcast. Just wanted to mention that the chest message that mentioned a password, ChairmanMeow, is actually usable on the official Sky website! All it did was give you some wallpapers. It still exists, though the FC portion doesn't work. trailsinthesky.com

Some are definitely... pretty hard, though once I learned that the answers to safe combos will generally always be solvable from only things in the same room and will always be dates, it did at least make it easier to take some of the wilder swings, like the Office safe.

Nice! I love the Decagon House Murders (as well as its subsequent sequels that are in English). I haven't read Tokyo Zodiac Murders, but I did read the Kindaichi manga case that ripped it off... and, if that's any indication, the answer to that mystery is *fucking brilliant*. I popped off.

shymonkeys.bsky.social @shymonkeys.bsky.social · 11/03/2025

Ooh, that should be fun! Mind if I write up a list of things Takumi and Yamazaki may have been inspired by and send it off? While Takumi tends to pull from the Golden Age, Yamazaki doesn't tend to discuss direct inspirations, he is an avid propponent of the shin honkaku style of murder mysteries.

I can't say definitively without watching it myself, but I imagine it would likely be since it is mostly focused on a bunch of new characters and their different circumstances from it being an AU, you'd just have to be fine with not knowing every reference.

shymonkeys.bsky.social @shymonkeys.bsky.social · 27/02/2025

Yes and no. It's *technically* in continuity with the main/original Gundam timeline, UC, but it acts as a "What if" AU where an event slightly changes in the original Gundam that fundamentally alters what happens.

I always think of Daley's traumatic remembering breakdown as an example of improperly breaking the black Psyche-Locks. Just before it happens Asougi insists on continuing to press him which Ryu is hesitant about because it doesn't feel right, but then goes along with it.

Jump Fiesta is on the 21st and 22nd, so if there were ever a time to announce it being a split cour, it'd probably be there.

110

shymonkeys.bsky.social @shymonkeys.bsky.social · 16/12/2024

I'd guess it's going to end on Okarun and Jiji bursting into the secret room and looking inside it. People have speculated this *could* be a split cour season, which would explain ending mid-arc, but we haven't heard anything concrete yet.

His Infinity Train stuff is... very interesting to look at, this post as he was going into Book 3 just kind of baffles me. Kind of interesting that he just thinks you need to be a full psychopath to hate beings other than yourself or your own species, and it's immersion breaking if it isn't that.

010

shymonkeys.bsky.social @shymonkeys.bsky.social · 07/12/2024

Might be too late, but don't forget there's a special one time only animation if you "pursue" the defendant when they have nothing to say while they're on the stand with someone else. If you miss it I can get a video to show it.

110

shymonkeys.bsky.social @shymonkeys.bsky.social · 03/12/2024

My minor gripe with this case is that there's a few elements where it feels like it's written as if it takes place after the first game, Ryu's office is immediately messy and Susato complains he never cleans, despite them moving in only the previous day, Gregson a bit softer than he ever was, etc.

It's very weird to think about how this case was originally meant to be in the first game as part of the 4th case... I love this case, but man, it would have absolutely added to the rough pacing of that first game. gyakutensaibanlibrary.blogspot.com/2020/02/dai-...

Oh yeah, since we're getting close to Case 3, best to mention in advance how to acquire that one time animation I mentioned back in TGAA1 Case 4. So, when the Case 3 defendant is on the stand with someone else, Pursue them when he has no indicator that you should and you'll see it.
