siccing the fresca mafia on me.....

Japanese classical records frequently have much cooler art than equivalent western albums. This Erik Satie series by Aki Takahashi has such insanely good art.

I just can't fuck with the aspartame taste. do you like sanpellegrino. I think they're a good balance between low calories and actually having some flavor

was recently at a party where one guy drank a 2 liter bottle of fresca over the course of the night all by himself. he made it look so good that I bought a 2 liter bottle of fresca last night. I don't think I like fresca lol

this is my personal favorite class consciousness tweet. it's such a dull but incisive observation lol

'straight from the planet, with love' a list of games by shy | Backloggd

I tried participating in that exercise of distilling my taste in games to nine picks, but I just couldn't do it. Instead, here's a list of 85 things that are variously important to me. backloggd.com/u/shy/list/s...

Stevie Wonder has made countless imprints on the texture of my life, but one of the most recurring: I hold my cat in my arms and sing "You Are the Sunshine of My Life" to her at least once weekly

I like being aware of cultural happenings, but this one seems like the fakest popular song of all time. if I don't hear it in the grocery store it's not real

110

I keep getting tempted to listen to "Choosin' Texas," but once I hit play I will lose the moral superiority of not having heard a single note of it. This is probably the least aware I've been of a Billboard #1 in my entire life lol

160

being vegetarian is so much less hard mode than it was when I started like a decade ago. I felt like a second-class citizen being forced to eat wilted salads whenever I let someone else pick a place to eat lol

110

Those four new Songs in the Key of Life-era Stevie Wonder demos are life changing. It seems shocking that for such a long and celebrated career, relatively little stuff has been released from the "vault." I know Stevie is a perfectionist, but he really ought to let us study more of his process.

warioware diy is so cool..... I never got to try it when the DS online play was in service but I think people have gotten the sharing working again via homebrew. I should mess with it sometime

Sort of impossible to sum his career up in a few words. He helped popularize calypso globally, recorded one of the best albums of all time (Hot & Sweet), and was a lifelong activist and ambassador for Trinidad. You can learn so much about Caribbean life and history just by listening to his music.

Lost one of my heroes today. Slinger Francisco, also known as Mighty Sparrow, passed away at 91. Trinidad's most famous calypsonian, always infusing his songs with sharp political wit and humor. A friend and influence to many, including Van Dyke Parks. Here he is performing "Jean & Dinah."

I'm in extreme akiko yano mode today. listening to every album in order until I get tired of them lol

110

it's so healing for my neural pathways to listen to music all day. i can feel my brain creating new nodes

1160

one of the best hip-hop albums ever. gab's death a few years back was a tough one to stomach. he was still doing lots of great stuff

130

real good discography to just start from the beginning, honestly. you won't hit an album that's not mostly amazing for a while

I have been listening to Akiko Yano nonstop since seeing her live last week. Her '80s albums are so much fun and she is stunningly beautiful on every album cover.

I assume mercy has apprised you of the events already.... crazy good time

you ever get to see sakamoto or takahashi? I will take the regret of missing them to my grave
