I know how to make my novel more publishable: 1. Remove the gray areas and make it fit on a shelf. 2. Lay on some genre specific tropes. 3. Revise to 1st person, present tense (for the book-tokers). The problem is that it's really, REALLY, not the book I want to write. #writingcommunity

This will expose my age. My favorite book is The Man in the Maze by Robert Silverberg. It was the first sci-fi book I read where the heroes are not all good, the villains are not that bad. The "bad guy" wants to save the human race. The "good guy" just wants to die in peace. A masterpiece.
