Had the same experience with every fantasy ttrpg. I think language barriers and stuff are fun on paper and for the first couple of in-game moments, but then it becomes just a nuisance.

And it definitely seems easier to do with Draw Steel! because this game doesn't have a bazillion of supplements and stuff... yet. And from what I gather, it's kinda easy to make things up for this game.

Started running Delian Tomb, just finished the 1st level of the dungeon a week a go. Everybody loves it so far, and maybe... maybe Draw Steel with become THE fantasy TTRPG for me at some point

For most people, DnD is the only language they know, and that's what they use to discuss other games. People were calling maneuvers "bonus actions" during our introductory Draw Steel oneshot.

GM Tip: While there's no need to prepare every detail, don't under-prepare because you were afraid your efforts would be wasted. Nothing you make is ever wasted. You can use it later, in this campaign or the next. Even if you never use it, the practice still made you a better GM. #ttrpg #dnd #rpg

This is where I appreciate pre-written modules the most. I prefer making stuff up myself, but when it comes to testing new systems, my mind is preoccupied with learning the ropes.
