Uvlo, a pale skinned and blue haired viera, sits on the ground, stretching as he takes a break from mining for minerals to bring back to his master, Shunye. His pickaxe leans against the cliffside he was mining, a several hunks of deep purple ore rest on the ground in front of it, waiting to be put away when he is done for the day.

The sun had begun to set already, sinking slowly lower and lower beyond the horizon, bathing the sky in a warm, orange glow. While usually such a beautiful sight would be calming, peaceful, the young viera was tense. On his mission to gather more materials for his master, he had the misfortune of encountering a dangerous adversary.

Danger was nothing new to the man, having grown well versed in traversing the wilds, but the fauna of Tural were still as of yet unfamiliar to Uvlo, and he knew not the best ways to protect himself.
The rather large frog that kept him pinned behind the relative safety of a large tree was a fearsome beast known to locals as The Raintriller, a creature that usually resided below the muddy depths in Kozama'uka, and notorious for its mastery of water magicks and deadly poison.
Uvlo remained where he knelt, muscles tight and ready to spring into action once the coast was clear, even if unfamiliar with his foe.
He could practically feel it's sanguine gaze boring through his shelter, and his breath grew nigh silent as the thundering plodding drew ever closer.
A moment of silence as both predator and prey waited, wondering if the other was still there or not, and Uvlo chanced a small glance beyond the trunk for any glimpse of the vivid green flesh. Knowing little of his foe, and being far smaller, he knew he had no hopes of trying to fight; his only option was escape.
Believing it to be safe for even just a moment, his body sprang into action, launching himself forward and out of his hiding place.
But the damn beast was ready, whipping around at the briefest of glimpses of movement from beyond the tree, and attempting to strike the viera.
Uvlo swore he could feel, /something/ whizz frightfully close to his flesh, tearing at the fabric of his clothes as he ran, but he swore himself safe.

Quick on his feet after many long years of practice in his work, he had managed to reach safety without further incident or more than a couple of scrapes. The Arch of the Dawn grew larger as he drew closer, and as relief for having escaped began to wash over him, so too did something else.
He scarcely had stepped beyond the threshold of the gate when a sudden weakness wracked his body, his legs refusing to move farther and causing him to collapse.
The sentries had noticed him fall, and he could hear the shouting reach his ears, though struggled to make out what was being said as his senses muddled.
To his dismay, The Raintriller had managed to strike him during his escape, poisonous barbs having torn flesh and allowing venom to enter his system. The world blurred and swam around in his vision as he struggled to stay awake, though his grip on his satchel full of Ihuykanite, carnauba leaves, and rhodochrosite remained firm even as he slipped into unconsciousness.

A blue haired/furred viera crouches tensely behind a tree. A large, deadly and poisonous frog lurks beyond the safety of his hiding place, sanguine gaze peering around the edge, waiting for its prey to reveal himself.
