Some Studies. Thanks to my sister, I now have drawn a pikachu. She has helped me understand some things about perspective, and I appreciate all her help. #art #pokemon #pikachu

Sketches of Pikachu. Post author is learning perspective from their sister, which is very good at art. They are very grateful to them for the lesson.

I made an attempt. Not super happy with it, but its left arm I was super happy to see come out really nicely. #art #pokemon #hydreigon

A sketch of a Hydreigon. Post author was doing so well with the arm on the right, that they forgot to keep proportions in mind and ended up using the previous page to continue the sketch. It didn’t end well.

I love Trapinch so much. Little menace, little stapler. Just a lovable pinch-y guy all around. #art #pokemon #trapinch

A drawing of Trapinch. Post author now has blending tools and has tried to use them, is unsure if they used the tools correctly.

Mega Mawile. Today, I had a really rough go with some stuff, but I’m learning as I go through some stuff. On the flip side, today I tried to just sketch while holding my sketchbook with one hand. I did okay, but there can always be improvement. #art #pokemon #mawile

A drawing of Mega Mawile. Post author tried to sketch while holding the sketchbook with one hand. They struggled, but ultimately are happy with the outcome.

Today I tried to figure out how to shade with different colors, but in grayscale. I’ve learned that I am not good at it, either. This is a Shaymin I saw on Pinterest so I tried my best to recreate it. It’s a learning process, for sure.

A drawing of a Shaymin (Land Forme). The post author struggles with grayscale. They attempted to “color in” the Shaymin using only what they thought would be the correct shade, but with graphite.

I looked up a video about basic shapes so I can start learning from the ground up since I just draw lines and erase them later. Shapes are very important, so when something is just… A shape. That makes it hard for me to draw.

A drawing of a Spheal. Post author doesn’t have a very good grasp of shapes, so the drawing of the Spheal is lopsided. A learning process for the post author.

The date on the bottom left marks January 2nd, 2026.

My new year resolution is to draw more, so I’m going to try to draw something everyday for this entire year to see how far I can make it for improvement. With that, I’ll be posting any drawing I make everyday (if I remember to do so). Starting with today, Jan. 1st, 2026.

Mienfoo drawing, post author doesn’t know how lines work so the shapes are not perfect.
