It is buried inside the pyramid. Although the “backrooms” are now far larger than the pyramid itself, people still need to continually expand the pyramid’s surface area to stabilize this space, causing the pyramid to grow like tree rings.

It has lighting similar to that in Backrooms, except you can’t tell if there’s actually a “ceiling.” In the lore, it was built to resemble the dwelling of ancient deity.

This space was artificially created with the purpose of serving as “an almost infinite space to house the world’s departed souls”; everything here is born from the distorted memories of the dead, and the departed “live” here. Simply put, this is the underworld—but it’s man-made.
