Ann growls in frustration, then starts marching around the apartment again, hoping she'll come across the little shiny black tube by accident. “It's not any old lipstick, it's the perfect lipstick! The perfect shade of red, for anyone! Do you have any idea how rare that is? It's basically magic!
And of course it's not even in stores yet, I got it from a shoot last week, so I can't replace it even if I wanted to, and I need it for a date tonight!"

"A Thursday night date?"

"Don't be an asshole!" Ann shouts.

"Fine, whatever," Ryuji says, holding his hands up defensively. He takes another bite of his energy bar before saying, almost incomprehensibly, "Ren must've borrowed it for his date too."

Yeah, of course he—wait.

Ann stops everything. Did she hear that right?

"His what?" she asks.

Ryuji's eyes go wide. "Nope." Ann takes a step toward him. "Nah," he says, his voice jumping up an octave. But it's too late for him. It's over.

"No, nope, I didn't say nothing."

During one really bad fight with my husband, I grabbed his favorite pillow (yk the one he's had for 20 years) and ripped it in half.
