This is the new tech I had alluded to. @badflips.bsky.social discovered both the tongue and tongueless methods to do RTA perpetual air catching with no wall. It is incredible, and feels really cool to do. It's extra cool to see in the context of the level she is working on that features it.

oh my fucking god, and they have the audacity to say that opt-out is a priority their solution to opt-out not being enforced on the first version of the program(!) is to disable the api keys for that version(!!) which will definitely fix the opt-out seemingly being entirely client-side

there's an app called stoat (formerly revolt) that is effectively discord again but without the bullshit. probably will be the easiest transition from discord to something else. i made an account, we'll see what happens.

what gets me is that discord seems to be forcing verification in ways that allow them to sell more data. obviously, they shouldn't be doing this at all. but, if they had to, which they absolutely do not, there are methods that would be completely fine without forcing mass internet surveillance.

i switched to zen browser following a couple suggestions here, and so far it's pretty great! it only has vertical tabs which is a challenge to get used to, but otherwise i think that it's a pretty good browser. i'd say it's worth a shot for anyone looking to migrate to a new fork.
