Every couple of months, we take Lady Snickerdoodle Snugglebug to get her nails trimmed. On those days, we have to delay her breakfast by about 90 minutes or she throws up in the car. Luckily, she is a very understanding kitty and is 100% NOT plotting violence and revenge 😂 #caturday #cats

Lady Snickerdoodle Snugglebug is going to say this one more time, louder for the people in the back. She is NOT on the dining room table. She is in a box that just happens to be on the table. #cats #caturday

I’m not saying I’m absolutely going to be murdered in my sleep, but I did just move the Viscountess two whole centimeters when I repositioned my legs. Apparently “both my feet are going to sleep“ is not an acceptable excuse. #cats #caturday

Life has felt stressful lately. This shot from a few years ago, called Breaking Free, reminds me to reach for peace. I originally hated the chain link fence in the foreground but I've grown to appreciate the texture and depth it adds. #birds #photographersofbluesky

➡️ Fun Fact Friday ➡️ I didn’t even realize hummingbird moths existed until I got interested in macro photography. Since then, I’ve learned they can fly almost as fast as actual hummingbirds. Some of them have been recorded between 25 to 35 mph! #photographersofbluesky #nature #naturephotographer

I suggested that the Viscountess might want to rethink the life choices that led to her waking me up at 5:00 AM the last three days to demand an early breakfast. She suggested that I keep it down because she’s full now and trying to snooze. #cats

Ok fellow #photographers, I'm setting goals for myself for 2026. I'm a dedicated amateur, hoping to make this more of a professional endeavor once I retire from my "day job."

I wanted The Right Honorable Viscountess Lady Snickerdoodle Snugglebug to get off the vent & let the whole bathroom heat up so I wouldn’t be cold when I got out of the shower. She wanted to stay where she was & take a nap. So we compromised and she stayed on the vent & took a nap. #cats

The feed for #BlueSkyArtShow is making my heart happy today. Here’s just one of my #FavoriteThings : my sweet doggo in her Christmas dress!

Planting milkweed this week so the seeds cold stratify and we get even more #monarchbutterflies next summer.

The Viscountess’ breakfast is going to be delayed an hour so she doesn’t throw up in the car on the way to get her nails trimmed. Please pray for us all during this difficult time. #caturday

➡️Fun Fact➡️ I don't always think about hummingbirds migrating but of course they're not around here in the winter. Apparently, some of them travel as much as 4000 miles. Crazy to think about these little wings doing all that work.

Ok, ladies, here’s the truth: if you, like me, have unfortunately dense breasts, a #mammogram can be pretty uncomfortable. But #breastcancer would be about 1000 times worse. So this is both a reminder to get a mammogram and permission to have an over the top sugar cookie afterward.

Snickerdoodle Snugglebug insists she has no interest in knocking my grandmother’s crystal off this shelf. She’s insulted that we anchored these pieces in a cat-proof manner. When asked how she knew they were anchored if she hadn’t tried try to knock them down, she terminated the interview. #cats

➡️Fun Fact➡️ I always thoughts these Skippers were moths but they're actually chunky #butterflies. Apparently, the fact that this Fiery Skipper's antennae end with a little club is one of the things that makes it distinct from moths. Who else knew that? #photographersofbluesky #nature

Please do not be alarmed. This #cat is NOT planning to fling herself from the top of the cabinet and pounce on the leftover chicken cooling on the counter. 100% not considering it, never even crossed her mind.

Do these two understand the concept of daylight savings? No, definitely not. But did they at least wait patiently for their breakfast this morning? Letting the human side of the family get an extra glorious hour of sleep? Also, no.

In light of #NationalCatDay Viscountess Lady Snickerdoodle Snugglebug wants to point out that while we’ve told her not to get on the counter no one mentioned getting in a bag that happened to be on the counter. The fact that there were groceries in the bag is, to her, completely irrelevant. #cats

This #TwoForTuesday post feels perfect for #SpookySeason I call it Hidden Danger because if you look closely you can see a huge garden spider blurred in the background and bits of her web above the two monarchs. #photographersofbluesky

The theme of this week's #BlueSkyArtShow is #inside and on this dreary day, I'm sharing a shot from this summer. This bee was really focused on working its way inside the flower and it made me chuckle -reminds me of Winnie-The-Pook getting stuck in his door. #naturephotography #pollinator #bees

I call this one Hanging By A Thread. I don't know if it was lucky timing or if he was doing some sort of pull-ups to increase his upper body #bee strength 😆but I love how it's holding on with one little foot. #PhotographersofBluesky#Nature #NaturePhotography

This is the shot I've been waiting for! After watching #monarchs eclose the last few weeks, I finally caught one as it dropped out of the chrysalis. It only takes a few more minutes for the blood and other fluids to pump from its body to its wings - #nature is amazing! #photographersofbluesky
