All being said: While it may be a centuries old world ending threat, they're also capable of change and his body is a deliberate choice. The past is in the past. Who knows what the future holds. But the present has Levi, and he wouldn't change that for anything.

If its not obvious, Levi's identity is a metaphor for transitioning and taking control of who you are. The use of different pronouns through this thread is very deliberate, as it/they/he/she and I are both gender fluid.

Levi is extremely important to me, because he is me. They quite literally came into my life at a time where I had no idea who I was any more. I would not be where I am or who I am without her. I love you, Levi.

Back to the original post, I mentioned Levi hiding things in his gut. Gluttony feeds the contents of his stomach into a dense void, but with Envy's shapeshifting he can fold parts of himself into the void to catch stuff. That's actually where most of Levi's "body" is when its not visible!

Ultimately, Levi is a Heart of the Leviathan. It was one of seven aspects of an ancient evil being. The symbol on its navel displays the two hearts it now possesses, "Envy" and "Gluttony", intertwined. The hearts give it abilities, like shapeshifting, but endless and literally insatiable needs.

"What's up with Levi" is kind of a loaded question. He is a lot of things but first and foremost, he's Levi. A little axolotl guy who lives in the big city with his big hyena boyfriend. If there were a "true form" of Levi, it would just be him as he usually is.

The earliest versions of the character who would become Arthur did have ear coloration. This was before either of my fursonas had a name and he was just "my axolotl's hyena boyfriend" but then the first drawing that's recognizably Arthur's design i guess I just forgot???
