I'm so honoured, flattered, chaffed and flabbergasted! A week ago I wrote about today's NOBEL PRIZE laureate, Karl Deisseroth! He and Sergiu Pasca claimed to have made mice with half human brain! FFS. forbetterscience.com/2026/09/25/s...

Today I'm posting a new video! This case report includes AI generated images. Despite being apparently fabricated with OpenAI tools this paper is already suggested by ChatGPT as evidence to be considered for off label treatment of an autoimmune disease. youtu.be/G9KHwXNIJyk

Do you have any more AI generated results figures?

I also noticed some time ago that AI when prompted to generate scientific figures actually favours image duplication - quite ironic.

Haha - honestly I never thought that far ahead. Nothing antagonistic of course, you can politely ask for a lab tour, they might even oblige?! Let me know what happens 🙏

Thanks! Another very good spot. When you see it, it looks comical, but it's hard to spot the first time. I also think his clothes wrinkles and skin wrinkles seem very similar. Perhaps I will make a YouTube video on this one, it's a hot topic.

Thanks everyone for helping! I think there's enough here to warrant a transparent analysis from the authors that shows details of exactly what was done. Duplicate value pairs are a good catch and I found a few more.

I expect the (obvious) slop schematic window is closing, these diagrams generally look better now. Fun while it lasted! But I still think there are ways to detect AI generated images.

Retracted today from Scientific Reports following my comments. Graphene oxide against cancer cells. The unlikely collaboration involved authors from Ethiopia, Chile, India, China, and South Korea. Two of the diagrams were easily identifiable as AI slop.

Catching up with MDPI corrections. A published meta-analysis accidentally compared body fat in the probiotic group to weight in the control group. Unsurprisingly comparing two different variables resulted in an obviously wrong forest plot. The authors did correct this after I spotted it.

OP says "ALL NEWSPAPERS suggested there was NO EVIDENCE"... That's a very different claim to some newspapers questioned the claim. If you don't understand the difference that's a problem.
