I am watching from afar - Brewers fan here! - but I feel like the Phillies decided a few years ago to just get the best bats (and pitching) they could find and let the defense fall where it may. Not an unreasonable strategy when you can't have everything (*cough* Dodgers)

It's a great fest that's somehow free, but draws some really good acts. If you can take off a day or two from work, Thursday-Friday is the sweet spot. Sets from noon to midnight and minimal crowds

One of my all-time favorite performances was Swamp Dogg at Americanafest in a packed, sweltering Vinyl Tap, him dressed like somebody’s old uncle at the family picnic, getting permission to do “just one more” at the end of his set, then launching into a 30-minute jam of “Sam Stone.” Love that guy!

Those $20 shows are such a better experience too - you're 20 feet from the musicians, and it's a visceral experience. You can *feel* the music being made. So often the $250 show leaves you 200 feet from the stage, watching it on a screen, barely connected to the music creation

Kramarczuk's! An incredible Ukrainian deli and restaurant. Get the borscht, and maybe some pierogi, and then hit the deli and bakery for a bunch of stuff to go (bring a cooler). It's a mandatory stop whenever we go there for Brewers games (MKE guy here) kramarczuks.com/about/
