And turn on the lights. What's up with the lighting? I'm finding it borderline unwatchable because it's bizarrely dark.

SHOCKULAR @shockular.bsky.social · 30/07/2026

Yeah, in addition to not mentioning it or who it was on, they didn't even show the tech foul shot on the broadcast! I thought the broadcast/announcers were especially bad last night with not mentioning stuff or just getting rules wrong, etc.

Who was the tech even on? The announcers on USA didn't even mention that there was a tech, much less who it was on.

So however this was made, probably AI or something, my question is how did they not look at the output and say yeah that didn’t work? How many people had to see this and okay it before it went to the next stage and no one said hey wait a second?

In fairness there were very few photos of Tony Parker after winning a titles next to an ad for a minions movie from 2026. They didn’t really think ahead on that one when he was winning the title.

Rookie contracts for first rounders are usually three year deals with a team option for a fourth. Those teams are just exercising the option to keep the player under contract for a fourth year.

This explanation makes even less sense to me than having buyers remorse and worrying about the fit, which is odd but I could at least somewhat see. This basically says they agreed to trade a mid first rounder for two 2s without knowing who they’d be, which just seems like malpractice.

Definitely. I was drawn to the league by Clark and she is my favorite player, but I’ve found so much more to like there. I am often frustrated by/confused by the behavior of many her other fans. I also get frustrated when people seem to take that out on her to some degree, but that’s another story.

SHOCKULAR @shockular.bsky.social · 14/04/2026

Interesting. As a Fever fan she was one of the two players going into the draft that I was hoping would fall to the Fever’s spot, so I was excited to get her. I think most Fever fans will like her. I think the more toxic portion of the fanbase tends to be overestimated because it’s so loud.

What don’t you like about the fit? She strikes me as versatile enough to make a positive contribution anywhere and I feel like the defense complements Clark and Mitchell well since that isn’t their strength.

Yeah, like any time college football recruits go anywhere they get this kind of stuff and they obviously don’t go to all of the schools. I think all it shows is she’s definitely visiting there, though I wouldn’t be surprised if she ultimately ends up there.

SHOCKULAR @shockular.bsky.social · 04/04/2026

Yeah, I can't even imagine what she would have said. He was obviously frustrated by the officiating and nothing was dropping for them, so it was an especially frustrating game for him, but obviously Dawn has nothing to do with those things. My guess is she was just there and he lashed out.

SHOCKULAR @shockular.bsky.social · 04/04/2026

Staley seemed to think it had to do with Geno feeling shunned by her before the game and maybe a lack of a handshake or something but she seemed baffled. Bottom line I think it was basically just he was frustrated by how the game went and lashed out. I'd imagine he's gonna be embarrassed later.

SHOCKULAR @shockular.bsky.social · 29/03/2026

What she's good at she's fantastic at. She's amazing at blocking shots without fouling and as an outlet passer and around the rim. I also do notice that she seems to spend a LOT of time near the perimeter when the ball is being rebounded by UCLA, so it could partially be some sort of schematic thing

000 0

SHOCKULAR @shockular.bsky.social · 29/03/2026

All that being said, remember this my criticisms are coming from a slob watching the game on his couch who hasn't played any kind of organized basketball since he was 11, so take it with a grain of salt. 😂

100 0

SHOCKULAR @shockular.bsky.social · 29/03/2026

That's not to say she can't get better at it, and like I said she's already good. When I watch her I sometimes feel like there's a tentativeness/kind of lack of aggressiveness there at times both offensively and when rebounding that I think she's going to have to overcome at the next level.

100 0

SHOCKULAR @shockular.bsky.social · 29/03/2026

I am actually kind of skeptical of her as a rebounder, at least defensively. She's good at it, but not as dominant as I'd expect someone that tall and long to be at the college level. I don't think someone 6'7 and that athletic should be barely sneaking into the top 10 in B10 defensive rebounds.

Does league pass work well when gotten directly through the app or the website? Last year I had it through YoutubeTv but this year it’s not going to be available there, only direct or through Amazon, as I understand. Trying to figure out which to do.

I always wonder this about pro athletes with names like this because on the one hand you'd think it's obvious but on the other hand the kids who are the most athletic are often the most popular so you'd think they're not getting bullied.

I think you can definitely argue that with Hidalgo and Miles as good as they are it was justified, but that really begs the question how did Notre Dame not get a 1 seed/make an Elite Eight in those two years. Having Citron as your third option and not being able to get out of the Sweet 16 is nuts.

This reminds me of the baseball player Adrian Beltre. When he was hitting and the catcher was about to appeal a check swing he’d appeal it at the same time. Always very funny.

I’m skeptical of claims from sources that the league is still losing money at this point. Every league claims this before CBA negotiations and if they’re paying 9% of revenues toward travel and only between 7-9% toward player salaries, where is the rest of that money going? It doesn’t add up to me.

"let's see if we make it on our own and if not we still had a competitive season and also have a draft lottery pick." Golden State might also have some concerns with what adding a ball dominant player like that could do to their chemistry.
