this is not something you'd say if 200cc wasn't in the cards even mk8 didn't have it for the first year of its life before it was added in a patch (and then it took another update to remove the unlock requirements)

for years I have been wondering why wario land 2 locks your save depending on game boy model. does gbc mode use a new engine with its own save format? is it compressed more efficiently on gbc? is it different for some esoteric reason? and it turns out the answer is no they just did that for fun

This patch removes the restriction of the GBC version where you can’t play a GBC save on your GB/SGB and viceversa. This is a very simple and minimal patch that only affects 2 bytes, which means not only is it also compatible with the Japanese ROM, but with other ROM hacks of the game as well (as long as those other ROM hacks are also compatible with the GB side and viceversa)!
