Shelt @shlt.bsky.social · 24/11/2025

I literally see that thang on nightly (if sky is clear) basis like i should have known 😭😭😭 its beautiful symbolism too like wolfwood's chapter in trimax has a bird representing him that is suspiciously raptor-like

110

Shelt @shlt.bsky.social · 24/11/2025

😭😭😭 im so sorry fgfhggv Sea is correct like it's just a matter of what you are used to! On me for not recognising one of The Wolfwood Constellation ever... No excuses

110

Shelt @shlt.bsky.social · 23/11/2025

SO TRUE HE'S LITERALLY A LOT BIRDIE.... Did i misread a bird as manta ray 👀 i just was so excited What kind of bird did you imply here... What's his deal...

110

Shelt @shlt.bsky.social · 22/11/2025

Fuuuuckkkk target audience: ME Manta ray constellation just for him......

NODDING MY HEAD VERY THOUGHTFULLY yes definitely a parallel i planned for and intended and not just people in audience with huge brains connecting the dots on traces of my subconscious mhm

Hardest part of this entire thing i swear!! Like it needed this oppressive angle i know it in my heart Thank you!

020

Shelt @shlt.bsky.social · 19/11/2025

Thank youuuu honestly that was kind of challenging so I'm glad it ended up looking well

You have such a beautiful mind... It is really true on how interesting the sheer act of adaptation can be. Part of why I enjoy Stampede/Stargaze, bc they did some interesting (and drastic) changes to the canvas of Trigun.

120

Shelt @shlt.bsky.social · 15/11/2025

It is a really different pace from action adventure manga and while I fuck w how fast everything happens in Trimax bc it contributes to this sense of doom and urgency... Buuuuut.... Can't they like, go eat together uuuuu

020

Shelt @shlt.bsky.social · 15/11/2025

Yeag like. I would really enjoy some interactions between the gang before or after dragon's nest arc for example. I wish you could beam the adaptation from your brain directly into my neocortex. I wish to perceive the high quality blorbos...

120

Shelt @shlt.bsky.social · 15/11/2025

Honestly, personally I'm at peace with no "faithful" Trimax adaptation. I'm not really enjoying watching anime that much, especially longer titles, manga is the perfect medium for me. Plus, people reacting to unavoidable tweaks as the story changes mediums is gonna be... interesting gfggfg

120

Shelt @shlt.bsky.social · 15/11/2025

Yeah like Im gonna be deadass. Trimax reread was the point at which I started consciously developing my art style. What really freed me was use of harsh b/w contrast and distinct shapes, even if it doesn't necessarily look realistic.

130

Shelt @shlt.bsky.social · 15/11/2025

Meeee 🤝 I've reread Trimax recently during a very sobering bad time when I dealt with a lot of grief, and well well well... I had my brain matter rearranged completely during vol10.

140

Shelt @shlt.bsky.social · 15/11/2025

Also a funny thing about 98 is that i wouldn't say Vash is significantly sillier in it... I would say that he is consistent with the Vash we see in two volumes of Trigun 95 manga. Which means he's like... Really edgy, if I had to describe it in 3 words or less.

120

Shelt @shlt.bsky.social · 15/11/2025

I got an impression for many people in English speaking fandom 98 is THE trigun experience, and nostalgia colors it heavily. I enjoy it ok, but heavily prefer Trimax as well. It might be more somber, but I like somber. And I have unlimited fillers in my head to spice it up.

Shelt @shlt.bsky.social · 12/11/2025

Bruhhhhhhh yeah... Ough you found another fucked up ancient mariner part... It is so crazy ngl i really love the endless torment of it all. Vash coded, all of it "Ah well-a-day! What evil looks Had i from old and young! Instead of the cross, the albatross Around my neck was hung!"

020

Shelt @shlt.bsky.social · 12/11/2025

YOU GET IT like there's just something about the sea birds specifically that gets me. How these things must be the stuff of legends on NML.... Like you said even for Vash Earth is a foreign world! Gah!

130

Shelt @shlt.bsky.social · 11/11/2025

I KNOWWWWW like it took me tf out when I read it. Always thinking about the beginning of Trimax and how Wolfwood heralds the inevitable........ And like, Vash the ancient mariner.... With an albatross around his neck.... I'm ill

150

Shelt @shlt.bsky.social · 11/11/2025

These were inspired, I shit you not, by two ancient poems: The Rime of the Ancient Mariner by S.T. Coleridge and The Stormy Petrel by B.W. Procter.
