fucked up again and committed to the Eyvind Earle background study and gave myself a new laptop wallpaper while I'm at it. now I need to commit to the "finish writing THEN do more art" challenge. good fucking luck to me. #tolkienarting

Digital painting of LOTR's Ithilien in Eyvind Earle's Sleeping Beauty style which is heavily inspired by medieval tapestry and art. The scene includes Disneyfied versions of the movie trilogy's Faramir and Aragorn, with Faramir wavering and looking back at Aragorn while following his fellow Rangers back into the woods.

Y'all I've done fucked up again and committed to yet another crazy project. Goddammit.

art in progress because I'm proud and mad at myself for deciding to do a full eyvind earle study/test instead of just cleaning up a workplace sketch #tolkienarting #artinprogress

Art-in-progress of an Eyvind Earle/Sleeping Beauty background study with line drawings of redesigns for two Lord of the Rings characters inserted for scale. My wrist and hand are dying oh my god. I have got to stop listening to the voices in my head suggesting this won't take too long to do.

Work is slow so I will officially post the baby boy, my betta mahachaiensis. Meant to be named Din Djarin the Bettalorian but is just the baby boy or a spoiled brat rn. #fishtank #fishkeeping

Young green-grey betta mahachai in a plastic bag being temperature acclimated to a quarantine tank with tannin-colored water.

A male blue-grey betta mahachai in a tank with aquasoil, rocks, a red stem plant, and an alder cone.

A very angry male blue-grey betta mahachai flaring and offended that a nerite snail is in his space.

Decided I'll let the rescaped tank settle a bit more but I'll say the ember tetras are a whole lot braver now. Also spotted in the shrimp cube - one of two berried shrimp. Have barely touched it after the baby betta shipped in but cool temps + lowered lights seem to work well. #shrimptank

Female carbon blue rili neocaridina shrimp that is heavily berried with orange eggs and perched on a frond of green moss. Like, that is a LOT of eggs to be carrying, good god. She's one-third eggs.

my bad for not posting on NYD but I did an art to open 2026 that is based on my fic The Stars, two songs, and 2025. din's haunted playlist: "Your Idol" by Saja Boys & "Everybody Scream" by Florence + The Machine #starwars #themandalorian

Digital painting of the Mandalorian Din Djarin in the style of a tarot card. He is bent over, helmetless and run through from the back by the Darksaber. At his knees is his helmet, stabbed through with a sword. Nearby are the piles of helmets and armor of other Mandalorians. Looming over him are ancient Mandalorians holding swords. Above them are stars and planets. Everything is colored in shades of teal, red-orange, and yellow.

(Edit: I did NOT have the Ka'ra on my mind, I just wanted to illustrate the Din Djarin from my fic The Stars having nightmares about the Darksaber, but hey. When they work out, they work out.)
