One of the biggest bucket list items I wanted to accomplish was build a blog site for reviewing games, anime, and manga, and I finally did that and got it running yesterday! I don't have a review up yet, and there's still more work to be done, but please feel free to check it out!: gaijingrind.com

Hey everyone! Sorry for the long hiatus, life just kind of exploded, and finally calming down. Short recap: Finally on the last 3 classes to finish my bachelor's degree, lost my job in March and finally found a new one, needed a break due to depression, family drama, built a blog, and other things.

Game #1 and platinum #50 completed for 2026: Clair Obscur: Expedition 33! This game has an amazing soundtrack, voice acting, and visuals! I was split on the story however. It was great up until a certain point, then it took a downturn for me. 1 of 2

Happy New Years everyone! I hope it was fun and safe for you all! I don't do new year resolutions, but I have some big goals I want to accomplish this year! I'll post them in this thread. I'd also love to hear what goals you all want to accomplish!

I think this coming year I should spend more time playing the older games (Pre-PS4 era) on my RPG Quest list and really hit this list hard. It'll be great to hit games I've either never played and get a first time experience, or play titles I haven't in YEARS! docs.google.com/spreadsheets...

Here's my list of anime and manga completed this year. I didn't read as much manga as I wanted, but completed my goal of reading one series fully in Japanese! My anime list is insane (131 shows!) this year. Quite a few rewatches as I was showing my girlfriend shows I thought she'd like.

Happy New Years Eve everyone! With the last day of the year, I wanted to post my personal wrap-up of games (I'll do anime and manga separately!). I actually played more games this year too! I beat the story for Expedition 33, but still working on the platinum, so didn't mark it as "beat".

I completed the manga "Happiness", my first manga fully in Japanese! The process of reading this was a blast and I learned a lot. The manga itself wasn't bad and started out great, but became a mediocre blend of many character stories. By the end, the story fell flat. The art was great though!

This is a big reason why I have a hard time with journalists and scores. I have no problem with your thoughts and opinions on games, everyone has the right to feel how they feel. I'd never heard of Pocket Tactics, and was curious as to why they gave it a 7. The review itself is fine, however 1 of 2

I think going forward with my RPG Quest project, I want to try my best to stream every game (and I'll revisit the ones I've already beaten later). I'll probably go through Twitch to stream, then upload to my Youtube channel by title/series for those who want to watch at their own leisure!

I finished RPG Quest game number 10: Atelier Iris: Eternal Mana for the PS2 in about 47 hours. I hadn't played this since its release, so a lot of it was new all over again. The music was just as incredible as I remembered and absolutely recommend listening to the OST! 1 of 4

I finished all 50 chapters of "Wild Strawberry" and this was a bit of a letdown sadly. The art is fantastic, and the story started out with such a neat, unique premise, but shortly in, the pace went at a breakneck speed. The story got incredibly rushed and the characters were generic. 1 of 2

I finished Vinland Saga and it's such a great manga! The art was fantastic and the characters are interesting for the most part. I have some gripes about how the story smashes into a wall and does a 180 in tone, but the philosophical ideas behind it are worth it at the same time. 1 of 2

I finished all 10 episodes of Kotarou wa Hitorigurashi and this was very good! The art is interesting and the music is good. The characters and story are a bit hit or miss for me, but there were definitely some moments that hit hard and a little too close to home. Overall I absolutely recommend this

We finished Shokugeki no Souma Season 1 (a rewatch for me) of 24 episodes and it's still just as good as I remembered! The characters and story are fun and ridiculous, and the art and music are fantastic. I absolutely recommend this to anyone, especially if you like cooking!
