Not the exact right fake arms but it's the best we got. #HappyHalloween

First-passed-the-post is painful. #cdnpoli

Screenshot showing the Conservative, Aaron Gunn, has currently ~10,500 votes, compared to ~9,500 for the NDP candidate and ~6,500 for the Liberal, and ~500 for the Green. We need a better voting system.

Holy heck, is this right? Pierre Poilievre is behind by over a 1,000 votes. #cdnpoli

Screenshot from Toronto Star election interactive showing Pierre Poilievre losing to the Liberal candidate by over a 1,000 votes.

Good morning! I'm up north intermittently with some family stuff these days.

A stunning bright red and orange and pastel purple sunrise over a dark snowy treeline and a barn.

This is one of the best summaries I've seen describing why and how legacy media is failing us. #journalism

Question: How do you perceive the current media coverage of President Trump’s administration?

Answer by Marisa Kabas: Many outlets aren’t equipped to handle this moment because they’re still so worried and they are clinging to traditional norms taught in journalism schools or traditional media institutions. They are not comfortable with breaking the rulebook, even in the face of clear and present fascism. I don’t know what it will take for them to completely take off the gloves and fight alongside all of us. A lot of journalists argue that their role isn’t to advocate, that that’s not their job. But if your job isn’t to inform people in a way that will help them, then I don’t really understand what your job is.

For me, solstice feels like most of December, and especially when I'm in Northern BC. 😂

A frozen brown sunflower droops in December, laden with snow and frost with a low sun and some humans and a dog in the background.

A slow dark sunrise in the winter snow and a low black treeline in the distance.

Fort St. John!

Long shadows from a low sun and a field covered in snow and frost.

Sunrise was spectacular this morning.

Sunrise after a long Solstice night, with blue sky, and cold snow lying in shadow and truck tracks and a thin line of yellow and orange light against a dark treeline.

Happy Saturday.
